Something very old. 4 February 2005, saying this:

Dear Star Wars Galaxies Player,

Recently Sony Online Entertainment sent you an email stating that 30 days of additional service was added to your Star Wars Galaxies™ account. Unfortunately, this email was sent to you in error. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

We want to thank you for joining the Star Wars Galaxies™ community and look forward to servicing you in the future.

Lol, SOE/LA customer services was quite good for laughs.  The last time I logged in I still had an open ticket from a year ago.  I wouldn't be surprised to see it still open.

That's because they laid off all of their customer support staff. Then they put fanbois in charge and called it the Warden program or something. It's sad how little SOE cares about their customers.

You clearly have no idea what the intended purpose of the Warden program was/is:

The Warden Program allows Galaxies players to apply to be voluntary in-game Wardens who have the ability to thwart the efforts of credit spammers and power levelers who are trying to sell their services.

With the use of a simple command, a player in the program can target a spammer offering credits or power leveling services and squelch their ability to speak through all chat channels, spatial emotes, spatial chat bubbles and in-game mail for a period of 6 hours. Meanwhile, an automatic email will be sent to our Customer Support Team, who will follow up on each incident and take further action against the account of the spammer.

Credit spammers used to be policed by the GM staff. SOE laid off most of the GM staff. Fanbois were made into server wardens to do the same work for free. So I know exactly how the warden program works.

They have mods who are players (the no names), as well.  The 'senators' more or less serve as marketing staff as well.

The senators are also used to deflect complaints about the game going directly to the developers. It's actually a brilliant little scheme...get a group of fanbois, call them seantors and then tell the players that all complaints and "suggestions" go through them. It's sad that SOE's best ideas are the ones used to remove themselves from their own players.

hehehe I don't like the sound of that.

I'm reminded of the pilot senator's last post, where he explains that he realized he was just being used by a company that really has no genuine interest in providing its customers with a quality service.

They did outsource their CSRs but that is pretty much a global norm nowadays.  Their are several reasons to outsource but usually the main one is to reduce overall costs involving full time employee wages and benefits which are listed as a capital item on their balance sheet.  Outsourcing changes it to an expense item.

As for the "fanbois" Warden program obviously they would not place an "angry vet" in those positions.

As for SOE caring about their customers their is ample evidence from their own mouths and actions that point that they don't but I guess they did leave the snow falling in that city on Corellia.

Oh, they did outsource the CSRs. But this Maddog character (whose posting style is suspiciously similar to someone else we know) said they "fired the CSRs and replaced them with the wardens," which is the exact opposite of being remotely accurate or true. It is a complete falsehood. That's all I was pointing out.

Well technically they did fire the FTE CSRs.  The warden's just filled a gap in service that the outsources were incapable of providing either by contract or by choice.  So to use Star Wars quotes he was correct...from a certain point of view.

If by "100 percent factually incorrect" you mean that's it true. Ask Obraik...he's a warden.

Remember when they changed the rules about AFK gameplay? That was the same time they got rid of their customer service staff...they didn't want to deal with all the reports so they now allow people to afk play. It all shows a shocking disregard for their customers.

They downsized and outsourced the CSRs. Nobody is arguing with this.

Maddog said that there are no more CSRs (or GMs), and that the wardens have completely replaced them. This is utter fiction. Or, more accurately, a complete fabrication, which you are more than happy to believe since it fits your point of view.

They actually outsourced way before the AFK gameplay policy change.  They made the policy change due to the fact that the outsourcers were inundated with tickets about AFK gameplay and decided it wasn't game breaking enough to deal with it any longer.

Look at who the wardens are...it's the people who never speak out against SOE and the people that put a positive spin on every bad decision SOE has ever made. That's what was meant by "put the fanbois in charge".

    Wrong.

Case in point: Harden, from the Sunrunner server. A complete idiot if there ever was one, but one who CONSTANTLY speaks out regarding Jedi issues and how the NGE never should have happened. Also, a warden.

I think Fisher is or was a warden and he has been outspoken.  I don't recall the NGE ever having Game Masters but that may have changed when they combined the CS accross all of SOE's games.

They used to have GMs but it was back when they still cared about the game. You'd often see them when a Jedi and BH would tussle and both would cry about exploits and hacking.

Currently there are no GMs in SWG.
