According to the latest SOE podcast, 6800 people transferred servers within the first few hours of the transfer service being made available...
No surprise there, everyone trying to get off their dead servers I guess, so 6800 of people that has 2-3 characters per account, so maybe 3200-3500 at that time?
You can only do one character at a time. Once you transfer one, you have to wait 2+ hours while the transfer is processed and you can't be logged in on any character on that account.
Not entirely true, I was talking with some people on Vent, they were logging in 5-30 minutes after the transfer and most of them were completed, the 2 hour window is there to ensure it goes through safely but you can still log in regardless. One of the guys on vent said minimum 30 minutes but one of his characters was moved within 10 minutes.
Considering the risks, if I was transferring I'd rather wait the 2 hours then login early and potentially screw up the transfer in some way...

i transferred all my toons within 10minutes of each other...total process took 30 mins...worked flawlessly
