in Age of Conan: Unchained

This is your moment to shine. "Big Bang Theory" is basing their storyline around MMO addiction and guess which MMO they chose????????????????????

I wonder how much that cost them. It was kind of funny though because at first I thought they were just trying to make random refernces but then when they mention Sanctum, Black castle and Tomb of the Ancient I knew it was a paid spot.  They even had alittle animated clip.

Its probably a repeat and Avery probably already announced it months ago but as an MMO player it was funny. Not Southpark WOW funny but funny none the less. Plus the blonde is hot.

    Yes old, and it didn't cost FC anythign but them giving the writers permission. When the ep was written  AoC was the most recent title to launch.

    They actually mentioned AOC on two other episodes, but this one they actually showed ingame footage.

    Was the ingame location they mentioned a real place?  I dont' remember it.

    That wasn't in game footage, it was CGI to look like in game footage but only better...  Same thing with WOW on South Park...

    Who knows if Funcom paid any money for them to use it on their show, usually companies do pay something or it would be free advertisement for Funcom and CBS doesnt do anything for free...  Or they might of worked out the deal that Funcom did all the CGI for the episode for free.  ((shrug)) unless you work for upper management for CBS or Funcom I doubt anyone can say... 

     BTW, Great episode.. The Big Bang Theory is one of my favorite shows..  Along with Two and Half Men... Then again they both have the same producers...

    Not that it was a big deal but the reason I questioned how much they paid was because they went out of their way to mention specific things where as they could have just used generic MMO words or scenarios or the typical elf or dwarf type characters in place of AOC. I highly doubt that they did it because it was the new thing out there being as most MMOs dont have enough players that would tune in just for a few lines about their new favorite game. Think about it from the money side and it makes more sense that they had some kind of financial arangement.

     

    Anyway thats not whats important. It was a cute show and once again the blonde is a cutie so it was worth a watch.

    They probably did pay  CBS a bag full of benjamins to show case their game... Just like GM paid a huge amount to have their vehicles show cased in the Transformers movie...  Just my opinion tho...

    Are you kidding me? There are many more women playing AoC than like WAR (WOW would be kind of underage). Sure good ol FC probably threw a nickel or two at CBS but lets face it WAR is not cool for a grils, whilst AoC is. The show must keep it's coolness factor.

     You might consider that it was also that AoC was the newest game at the time the episode was filmed.

    that's what i was thinking.  The show was really about showing her 'geekiness' shine through.  They couldn't really have her playing WOW since that is mainstream, which is what Southpark made fun of WOW about (and guitar hero).

    I kind of watch that Big Bang show. And there is something about AoC and that girl in every second series (well the last 7 I have seen).

    See I thought that the South Park WoW was hilarious. The Big Bang Theory AoC was funny, but I just thought Make love not warcraft was ingenius.

    I just watched th repeat last night on my tivo...  They got a few things wrong...

    1) Penny wanted to know how to get into Tortage because the guy at the gate wouldnt let her,  Sheldon said she needed the Sword of something and the only way to get it was to go to the Temple of Mitra which is in OT, then she could kill the guard at the gate in Tortage. 

    2) Penny wanted to know how to kill mummy's, far as I know there are no mummy's in AOC..

    I've watched all the episodes and as far as I can remember this was the only episode they talked about AOC, they have talked about WOW in a couple other episodes tho...  Like the time they went into a dungeon and Sheldon left everyone to die in order to get the sword reward and then after he got it he logged off and  sold it on Ebay right away.... that was pretty good..

    Yeah, the brainiac plays AoC and the pervert plays Wow (he tries to hit on the Penny in a episode by showing her his cat pet)... But anyways it is a funny serie about nerds, they all play Halo too.

    The guys who write are nerds like us so they do play the games, you notice it when you watch the series, but they have some fact errrors with AoC, it is not a paid comercial but the way the serie works, and they don't pay anything either. I doubt Southpark paid for using Wow for that matter... Only record companies are so retarded that they want cash for something that they actually will earn money on.

    The main reason they used AoC is most likely because the GFX looks hot for this kind of show, or maybe the script writer plays the game.

    The perv plays AOC to, remember at the end of the episode he talks penny into going to a pub with him, then she snaps out of her nerdyness and tosses her laptop to the other side of the couch..

    As for the GFX, the last time I played AOC, chopped off heads didnt keep talking...  It was all CGI and not in game footage.
