Ugh, click2pay is crap. No one can register for accounts there, I've literally tried 30-sum proxies and still get the same "Not in US or Europe or Canada" error. Same for my friends, when IP2Location clearly states we are ALL in the US.

As for the insolvency issues, their toll is obvious, no one can make a free trial account with paypal. I very anxiously wish to try this game before I spend anything, so I ask towards the current Neocron community.

Is there anyone with an account I can use to try the game? It's apparently free right now, so it's not going to be exactly costing anything to do this.

Thank you.

Right, after some deeper research, Click2pay went to German ownership. The company no longer serves US-customers, but they don't tell you that on their site.

My method to circumvent this was using a UK proxy, but I don't have one that will let me execute the java/flash scripts on the page yet, so this will take some time.

Still, why is no one on this thread? Did the forums die?

not sure it's free if u use clikc2pay, I just got charged 25 euros for the client:(

It's the trial, after the trial you get charged. :(

I tried to register with Click2pay using a UK proxy, and it worked, until I read they try calling your number to verify. That would be a give-away if I just used a fake number, so I gave up. :/

Proxying is one thing, but I don't feel like making a fake UK phone number.

I'll just have to live without playing Neocron 2.

You could make a Skype or other VOIP number for the UK then have them contact you through that no matter where in the world you live.

But darn, I was going to try this game out, but if it is this big of a hassle then I guess I'll just forget about it.

I'd really just wait for them to fix Paypal.

Click to play came in....Neocron died, used to be an awesome game, was my first love in the MMO world, then came click to play and Neocron 2, the game pretty much died a few months later.

ah, yeah. 100 people playing an MMORPG is "dead", even for Neocron.

I believe I've stated this before, but a quick re-cap for those still interested.  I had a few problems creating an account for this.  First, I had problems trying both PayPall and Click2Play.  For PayPall it was giving off a "Certificate Expired" error.  So then I tried C2P, and instead, C2P website stated that I was not NA (North American) region, which was odd since I was.  I later heard that C2P was not handling NA region anymore though one would be led to believe otherwise.  Perhaps they C2P needs to update this on their registration process to curtail any further confusion.

So finally I was left with the final option.  PayByCash.  Saddly, I had to go to a 7/11 convienient store to purchase "The Ulitimate Game Card" of which I had to purchase around 4 of them at 10 dollars a piece (as the game in Euros roughlly is equivalent to 36 American dollars (give or take)).  So after registering with PayByCash, and scratching off the backsides of 4 Ultimate Game Cards, I was able to register my account.  Oh one more thing, you have to  create a Forums account on the Neocron site first before registering it with PayByCash.

After all that pains-taking-process, I finally get to enjoy this really interesting take on MMO's.  It's basically FPS with RPG character progression where you increase your game over all rank, as well as train certain skills for that class.  Each class has many subskills to train for and it's best to specialize in a subskill.  Just a recommendation.  I ended up creating 3 specialist (a Hacker/Constructor (good for crafting), a Scientist/Researcher (good for creating blueprints off most weapons/armor for constructors to use, and 3 APU, which is sort of like a Psychic magic user class that nukes.)

In retrospect it was worth the trouble as I am deeply enjoying this title for both it's RP and PvP elements.  One final note however, if you're a fickler for graphics you may note that this game's graphics fall somewhere in the Half-life category.  The're a bit dated, but the game depth and fast-paced gameplay more then make up for that.
