Yes they only have 2 million NA subs. There wording on actual subs is VERY sketchy as well. They include a lot of different areas including cafes that are very popular in other countries.TOTAL subs NEVER mean anything as far as i am concerned.

What does matter is how many players are ACTIVE on YOUR server.I tried several WOW servers in the past and actually found them ALL dead, however i do realize that i stick to PVE and never dwell on anything PVP server wise. You could have a game with 500 million total subs and one with 50k subs the smaller game could actually have more active players, witch is what really matters to the players. There is also a LOT of RMT activity in WOW and selling of accounts ,so actual players that are there for you to enjoy the game with would be very limited,i would say it cuts there individual server populace by 20%.

Games are about community,so the players that are not there to prolong the game and take active part in guilds, will be alienated from the ones that do really enjoy the game and are not there to help RMT or just to power level, then sell accounts. Then of course you have all the multi toons and AFK'rs and you can easily see why a game server can be really dead even though it may state it has a redlined population.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

  • Not everyone who plays WoW is going to buy the expansion right away - its only useful for high-level characters anyway. And they've sold 2.5 million in the first few days - that doesn't mean they won't sell a lot more copies in the coming months.

ya i believe that not even half of wow's total subs are from na or eu, but from asia. while 2.8 million boxes sold in one day is alot it wouldve been alot higher if the number of subs in na and eu were 10 mil. they dont have to pay for boxes in asia, just time

Wotlk sold around 2.8 million copies in its 1st 24hrs of release, more copies would have been sold since then. That also made a new record for an expansion breaking the old record set by, oh wait, what was it again, ahh yes Burning Crusade. However when BC was released i was bored of the game and was out trying a couple of (shite games that should have been canned). 11 months later i bought TBC and that still put all other mmo's to shame.

Unfortunatly WoW does become a bit of a bore. At times i only log in to chat and help some friends out in game. Several have moved on, but hopefully for me Wotlk will bring some new people in.

Don't forget, folks: 2/4 of all subs are Gold Farmers, 1/4 is that guy with 36 accounts, and the remaining are either clinically insane, socially inept or 13 years old.

The link is what i was refering to, did you click it?

That guy runs 36 accounts costing him over 5k per year.

I called it excessive. It gives him WoW power, excessively; at the cost of excessive money for hardware, software and monthly subscription.

But um, were you talking to me or the whole thread?
