First day in-game, plans?

DuraheLLDuraheLL Member Posts: 2,951

The first day in-game, what do you plan to do?

- Socialise

- PvP / gank

- Chill

- Craft

or something else.

I know I'd try to find skulls to bash for sure :P

I guess my first day in the game I will be making a bunch of brimstone proof snowballs.

Just kidding - probably killing newbie monsters like the first day in every game.

I can't help but feel this is somehow a trick question.

But to answer, probably troll the forums like everyone else.

Tried: LotR, CoH, AoC, WAR, Jumpgate Classic
    Played: SWG, Guild Wars, WoW
    Playing: Eve Online, Counter-strike
    Loved: Star Wars Galaxies
Waiting for: Earthrise, Guild Wars 2, anything sandbox.

My guildmates and I will be taking a week off work to maximize our playing time so that we can can develop what we need to in order to station ourselves in a position where we can dominate guilds that cannot keep up with us. In other words in a game based on survival of the fittest, we plan on being the fittest.

Shout in chat channels that this can't happen and we are all dreaming, because it's vaporware

Probably play it for a while, get bored and make a thread about how amazing this game is to help reassure myself that I didn't just waste £40 on junk.

One lesson I have learned over the years is not to buy into the hype. The more hype = the bigger the dissapoinment.

I'm not really expecting much from this game to be honest but maybe it'll pleasently suprise me.

ok im 16, i take time off school for stuff like. band practise, hangovers, lazyness etc.

But taing time off to play a computer game seem's real sad to me =

Its because you arent old enough to understand. When you get married and have kids, your life becomes about kids, all those things listed that you think is cool, were and are in fact provided by your parents.

That being said, were a bunch of guys whose lives are dominated by work and family life, and once or twice a year when a new game comes out, we take a week off for ourselves.

Its not much to ask considering the other 51 weeks a year we spend not pampering ourselves, but pandering to kids, wives, bosses, etc.

So it seems kinda sad to me that you dont have the insight to give your average hard working family man who happens to enjoy MMOs even a modicum of respect for wanting 1 little week off simply based on the fact that you dont understand what it is to be an adult.

And furthermore, its not even really a week off, Ill still be keeping an eye on my kids, making dinner, changing diapers, doing laundry etc. Its just a week where Ill get a little bit more time than usual to get my game on.

Reading Arcken I couldn't help but remember what a bourgeois is: a person whose attitudes and behavior are marked by conformity to the standards and conventions of the middle class: kids, family, boss, taking a week off (your rebel side?). And I would add someone telling others that they are doomed to become the same, or feeling the need to justify their own life which oftentimes sounds as a bitter fate (even if they won't realize that themselves).

Yes all children are doomed to become teenagers, and those teenagers are doomed to grow up and realize they were naive as teenagers.

At no point did I said jr was going to be "doomed" the the existence I quite enjoy. I said eventually he'll grow up and shed that teenage attitude. Frankly as a parent Id be mollified if one of my kids took this attitude with another hard working parent. Honestly Id probably be mad at myself for raising a spoiled brat.
