Played the trial

I just finished a few days of playing with a free 7-day trial.  I liked the combat.  The rest was pretty week.  There were tons of graphical problems.  This could have been a problem with my system but my character and other parts of the world would randomly disapear.  The character customization was really bad.  When I could actually see my character I was impressed with the animations and fluidity of the game.  I hope this game improves as it could be a solid title, but I don't hold much hope for it.

dont judge on a trial please. you have seen nothing.

the game IS a POS. customization is moot, it aint a barbie game. whats more the whole game falls apart at level 30.

lastly dont say ANYTHING about a games graphics and then state that "it may be my system", if you dont have faith in your system you should be focusing on building 1 you can depend on not trying out crappy games to write mini pseudo reviews of.

I played for 30 days at launch and I just wrapped up a trial. (I did a couple of weeks in the closed beta also)

Honestly from a NP perspective, there is nothing different about this game from launch. /shrug. The new "tutorial" hmmm... aside from changing the direction they actually cut out a lot and made it easier.

Before you ran from the hill and worked toward the cave with the logos in it. You had to capture that base, blowing up gun turrets and gates to get there. Then you had to fight your way into the caves to get the logos...now you start standing in front of the logos, the UI is hardly explained compared to what it was before, now its mostly pop ups which in game with the combat as it is, really is just a distraction, the base, you just walk onto, maybe 4 or 6 aliens put up a fight to you and your 3 NPC pals...I'm mean WTF?

Dunno, maybe someone brand new would be impressed with it but IMHO they needed to more then just reverse the direction of travel and cut out some content if they were going to "improve" it. (not that there was anything really "wrong" with the old tutorial)

Once I hit the main game, nothing, zero, I mean anything has changed. Except there are far less players. Still no vehicles, still the exact same content, still the exact same starting areas....bane still spawn in the same spots. (although it seems like a lot less of them are spawning)

Any changes have to be so under the hood they are hardly noticable to a new player.

I said it before, I'll say it again...play Quake Wars if you want an actual humans vs aliens WAR game.

Also whats with having to "buy" your ammo? As a species we deserve to die in Tabula Rasa. We are making our soldiers buy their ammo, we have no basic ground vehicles, we have no heavy armor, we have no air support, we have no space support...nothing. The best we can do apparently is teleport en mass into an area with small arms.

On top of it, it also appears the aliens can't stop us...how did they take Earth if they can even mop up the left overs? The whole scenerio doesn't make any sense.

I have been saying these things for months. I was told we lost Earth due to overwhelming numbers and the fact no humans had logos powers. Of course you can roll to level 50 with no logos and still kick bane ass so how we really lost Earth is just beyond me. The gaps in the story I am sure will be filled in with the return to Earth in D15 coming soon.

Yeah, a game where the NPCs are unkillable would be so much fun.

Of course we can kill the bane, Like we can kill the piwats in Eve, the pixies in wow and its hundreds of clones and all the npcs in all the other games.

TR is by far the best MMO out there,..

By far the best MMO out there? Are you comparing it to Auto Assault and only other games that have been cancelled or not left beta?

The trial for TR is all anyone needs to play, maybe pick it for the $.96 Amazon was recently selling it for. Are you actually trying to convince anyoine that the best MMO out there currently is being liquidated by stores one year after release?

What are you talking about with unkillable NPCs?

Wel to answer your "how can aliens not kill a few resisters" question, its simple....YOUR AN AFS MARINE! and elite 1 man army.

    freaking duh

second, it is a great mmorpg. Its only a SMALL bit of grind from levels 30-50. and at 50 you can enjoy base capturing....basically the same as end game for CoH but you know they are adding it soon.

The problem these days is everyones expecting games to fail....show some support and faith.

Yet when billions of us were on Earth we lost, but those same AFS marines are now a one man Army? You have to be a one man army in a game so few play.

It is a below average MMO, it is a decent single player shooter at best. Levels 30-50 add nothing to the game as your final decisions are made at level 30 and the rest of the game adds nothing. As for base capturing at 50, while fun it becomes boring quite quick as CPs serve no purpose in the larger game.

You can also enjoy base capturing at any level so it is not unique high level content. The game is a failure, the war as a background is a failure, the quests are failures.

Sorry but your debate falls flat here.

Tabula Rasa is a major failer, click here for some news but if you dont want to read here' is a bit of the story:

"Curiously, Tabula Rasa's monthly subscriber figures were omitted from NCsoft's report, which included figures for most members of the MMORPG specialist's portfolio: Lineage (881,979), Lineage II (857,531), and City of Heroes/Villains (124,939). To date, 5.59 million people have activated accounts for the Seoul-based publisher's free-to-play MMORPG Guild Wars."

The game has been released for some time an it still incomplete, the combat system is great but the game fails i everything else: Character development is really weak, maps are really small, some class are still broken, nothing to do for level 50 character...

I played Beta and gave up on beta but one thing I have o admit the game improved a lot (they new crafting system is now useful)and they have great ideas for the future, like Mechs for players and finally, a chance to return to Earth.

The game is an average mmo and even if they had released 1 month ago with all the updates since lunch it would still be an average mmo.

"you are like the world revenge on sarcasm, you know that?"

One of those great lines from The Secret World

Good luck with your continued trolling though.

I agree with you there. I like and will continue to play it as well. It's all on what you find fun. If you don't like the game or don't play it anymore, seriously ... it's time to move on.

Ive played just about every MMO out there and got TR at release and played it for three months.  It was fun shooting shit with laser shotguns and chainguns, but overall this game just lacked any sense on the multi player aspect.  The world/ or worlds are just too small.  If it were a stand-alone pc game for $20 dollars, it would work well.  The gameplay is fun if you tweak the interface a bit, but it has no depth.  It really just got boring after a while.

I say if you liked the trial, then play for a while, you will have fun, but dont expect to put any kind of long-term commitment into it.  I came back for the ten day invite they did recently and played for a while, it was still a bore.

Shoot stuff, kick their heads in, and enjoy.  Just dont plan on that kinda fun lasting too long.
