Considering organizing a Sweden-based demonstration against Pirate Copying...

Any thoughts?  My plan is that I get the Swedish Anti-Piracy Bureau and we go rant outside the State-House (the Swedish White House, sort of, even if neither the King or Prime Minister live there) until the police come there and start beating us up (we'll hav elots of time, they'll start by kindly asking us to leave for three hours, then telling us to leave for two hours, and at last give us an order, and then somebody throws a rock and all hell breaks loose).

Oh, and if some people from other countries could call some News-Networks or something to tell them how much they hate Pirate Copying and how much they support this demonstration and so-and-so, maybe we can look all glorious and people will watch and pity us as the Police take us away...

I don't know when, but if this succeeds then I'll notify here.

    I agree with your cause. I hate it when people copy pirates too. There are enough Pirates in the world without people copying them.

    Pirate copying should be banned for sure. I don't care if they are wanna be pirates, or actual pirate clones, but they should not be copying pirates.

    People who copy pirates ought to be shot!

    Unfortunately there does not appear to be any form of Forum on the Anti-Pirate Agency's Website (http://www.antipiratbyran.com for those of you who know Swedish), so I must think of some other way of getting in touch with them...

    ...God I love the right to demonstrate, at least when people demonstrate for something that I believe in!

    I completely agree! I mean, if we keep copying pirates, why would it stop there? Buccaneers, Mongols, Huns, the whole works of invasion forces! We must stop it while we still can! I second your cause, good fellow!

    I mean, I know Kazaa is actually legal software, but we can't afford to have the developer in Sweden, it ruins our image!  Deport him and shut Kazaa down!

    As for DC++... ...well, we'll import the devs, deport them and shut down the servers!

    Then, we import all those people who sell cheap Pirated Games, deport them and roll a steam-roller over their CDs!

    MOHAHA!

    Oh no, I forgot, we swedes are supposed to be panzies...
    Maybe we can just talk to these people, tell them that they are disturbing us in an unpleasant manner...

    The Twelve-year-olds downloading 'N-Sync, yes, but mostly the people who create the software they use (Peer-to-Peer sharing software, cracking-thingies etc).

    Because these by God damned Pirates are stealing from the industries and ruining our economy for their own free-movie-viewing-game-playing-music-listening pleasure!  The bastards are no better than petty thieves, in fact, THEY'RE WORSE!  Yes, that's right, it's worse to download a movie for free off of the internet than stealing it from a store.  At least a shoplifter has to do his own dirty work...

     People see those big mainstream music videos on t.v. As if they are already sitting on a mountain of gold, we want to give them even MORE money.

     Filesharing let's independant music be heard, and gives them a better chance of being known.

     Besides, the world is unbalanced as it is. Some people are busting their ass at Burger King making 5 bucks an hour, while Britney Spears get's paid thousands to do a 15 minute interview about herself. Give me a f**cing break. If anything, filesharing balances out the universe.

     If i download a movie, and it is a well made movie, I will run out to the store and buy the dvd. If i download a movie, and it sucks. Then i'm not giving that movie a penny of my money.

     Five of my friends i know all own the movie "Donnie Darko" on dvd. Was it because it was playing in theatres? Nope. Was it because there was commercials of it? Nope. We downloaded the movie, loved it, and went out and bought it.

     Suprisingly, Donnie Darko.... A movie that had never been heard of 2 years ago now made a ton of cash, and is already working on a directors cut of the movie. And i wonder why.

    While it is true that a lot of people are more likely to buy a CD/Movie if they download it and try it out, it is also true that the majority WON'T!  P2P-software does more bad than it does good, and you all know it.  And, even if those people are rich, that doesn't give you the right to steal from them.  WHo are you guys, modern-day Robin Hoods, taking from the rich and keeping for yourselves.

    You have no right to steal their property, and by sharing these files yo are breaking several copyright laws.

    Hope this doesn't count as flaming, but I hope you all go to jail!

     Yes. As a matter of fact, over 70% of people in north america have computers. I doubt they are all rich.

    yep i first heard on donnie darko on dc++ in a hub, downloaded it watched it, then bought it when i saw it on dvd, and Fraek your on a hopeless mission... give it up.

     I also got the first episode of Dead Like Me off IRC. Watched that, loved it. 2 days later and i have the first season on dvd image.

    Bah, I will never give up this mission!  Sure, the two of you and some of rathma's friends purchased the movie afterwards, but you don't represent the entire Pirate-community, now do you?

    Anyhow, you have no right to download those movies (well, legally you do, unfortunately...), that's what renting is for!

     The last 2 movies i rented, one was scratched like hell and would not play at all. I tried to get my money back but they claimed i scratched it.

     I will never rent movies, ever.
