well i would have been really happy about expansion 2 months ago. But now i am so hooked up on warhammer, that i dont pay much attention to wow lately. And i cant be arsed playing bouth games now. i just dont have enought time .
Ireallt did not expect to say this: i whant that expansion to be pushed back
I'm just going to be questing. Lake Wintergrasp won't be available til lvl 77. I'll probably wait a few weeks to start my deathknight.
What? How's that? You have to be a specific level to enter the area? This is the first I've heard of this.
Edit: Ok, just did some research and apparently you have to have a flying mount to get to Lake Wintergrasp. Well that really blows. So what about this new battleground. Can you start playing this immediately? And who's stupid decision was it to make Wintergrasp off limits till 77?

Only Flying mount to get to wintergraps is not true, a while before a wintergrasp battle starts or all the time when you control the keep theres a portal in Dalarana (the new neutral city), you'll discover the city around lvl 73 or so. But if you know where it is theres no reason you cant go there at 70 and set it as your new home for the next 2 years =D
So yes you can get there at 77 with a mount or use the portal at any level.

Sweet. I feel better. I thought it rather strange that they wouldn't want anyone below level 77 participating. If I want to go get steamrolled at level 70, so be it!
I still don't know. I got my lvl 70 with welfare epics all ready to go off north, but I'm currently lvling with a friend. It's his first time playing WoW and we just hit 60, so we won't get to 70 in time for the launch and even if we do, it would feel just like a chore to keep on going and going untill we hit 80.
I'll see, if I can't resist the Lich King calling me, I'll pack my bags and go north, leaving my buddy to take his time exploring Outland, but otherwise I should be somewhere in Terokkar Forest bashing some Bloodelf heads in.

Unless you or your friend is very casual, you'll be able to hit 70 before the release of the expansion. Remember that they have lowered the XP required from 60-70 by about 30%. I went from 60-64 in under a week and that was playing very casually, like 20 hours of playtime. I figure I can hit 70 in about another week or 2 easily. You still have 3 weeks of playtime left to hit 70.

This is true - I leveled my retribution Paladin from level 60 when 3.0.2 was launched. I'm currently at 60%, level 66. You won't have a problem w/ XP required being nerf'd and various faction reputation getting boosted.
I will not be buying the expansion because WoW is dead for me.

On the 13th, Northrend will be overcrowded, the Death Knight starting area will be overcrowded, and unless I shell out extra for fast shipping, my copy of the expansion will probably still be a day or two away.

I know all of that, but my friend is not in the same boat as you and me and you. We have already seen Outland and what it has to offer so for us, geting to 70 is just doing some quests and mostly plowing trough it. My friend on the other hand is very casual in his play style. I don't mean that he plays little, he just likes to expirience the areas and quests, and AH, not really rushing to the end in any way.
That's why I'm saying what I'm saying. I really don't want to go to Northrend alone, but will of the Lich King might be too strong and I will have to lose myself, yet again anyway.

I can't believe that you think playing 20 hours in one week is playing 'casual'. I have a 70 Orc Warrior in gladiator gear ready for the new content, but my guild has been leveling up on a PvP server, and that's where they want to continue playing. My Dwarf Rogue is only level 64, and I'm getting maybe one level per week with what I consider 'casual' play, which is about 4-5 hours. Of course, I'm playing 2 other MMO's about the same amount, but even the total for all three is only about 12 hours a week. And I get enough grief from RL relationships for that 12 hours, believe me! On the other hand, I am taking November 18th off from work to play the new LOTRO expansion - can't wait for that one!
All depends on when the store opens to pick-up my pre-order. If it is at midnight, will go down and pick it up then load it on my computer. Otherwise will be at the door when the place opens at the nornal hours.

20 hours is casual. thats 2-3 hours a day . 2-3 hours a day is considerd semi-casual.

3 hours a day during the week might be a lot, but most people don't space it out evenly between the days. Myself, I might play 2 hours or so a night during the week, but I'll get another 10 hours or so on the weekend unless I have something planned. It's semi-casual. And he wouldn't even need 20 hours a week, since it will only take about 50 hours of playtime I estimate. In 3 weeks that's 17 hours a week which is not that hard to do. Now if you're like Son of Seth said and you like to stop to smell the roses, then yeah, probably won't make it in 3 weeks.
man, if 20 hours a week is "casual" then i'm so far below i don't even know what to call it... RL only lets me get five to ten hours a week in.
Well I'd say 10-20 hours is casual for an MMO. 5 Hours a week? In an MMO? That's practically not playing. MMO's require a little more time than your average game. No offense. Let me ask you something. How many hours a week do you watch TV or movies or listen to music or partake in some other form of entertainment? I do very little of any of that. Joke aside. I am going to Borean Tundra and start my grind with my warlock now that I know where to powerlevel thanks to beta.
