Repost of an "Open letter to Newbes" :)
Hi folks!
Some time ago I had taken it upon myslef to write an open letter to all newcommers to Ryzom.
It ceratinly is a bit outdated in some respects but most of it is still true and valid.

I was not able to find my first post by the Serach Function for some strange reason, so instead of necroposting it, I´ll link here to the official Ryzom boards.
As what addendums to it go, feel free to put them here.
Critique is welcome, within respect of remembering that the letter is quite old.
If you´ve got anything to add regarding the actuall situation, feel free to do so.
It was intended and orignally conceived to help newcomers understand the peculiar "specialities" of Ryzom and the things that put it apart from other games of the genre.
As for the current situation myself, I agree that Silan needs a good and all in all QUICK overhaul and that some of the long ago promised features should be implemented "soon".

The "New Owners" are moving on and do seem to be at least interested in the future of the game.
