Its about the only way you will find out is to try it.
I beta tested it but thats about as far as I am going with the game, cancelled my pre-orders a while back.
I am just going to wait for Wotlk which is really looking good in my opinion.

I know you warhammer fans think Warcraft is a lot like warhammer, but its spelled different on the Forum list.

No, I'm a long time WoW fan (you might call me a fanboi) and I wanted to let other WoW fans know how they can get an open beta invite so they can try the game themself rather than relying on reading all the threads being thrown around the forums these days comparing the 2 games. Even us fanboi's are not above giving the other games a shot despite what everyone thinks. I liked this approach because it allows me to try the game without pre-ordering. I'm not convinced I want to buy the game yet, I'd like to try it out first. Blizzard always has open betas so the people here are used to that and this is as close as it's gonna get. Just thought they may want to know.

Well I have played WAR durign closed beta.. not much though as I found quite boring and very meh. And the combat is choppy, sloppy and zergy... just my opinion ofc.
I think most WoW players will say they have better control of their toon in WoW than they do in WAR.

It's troll named Vicksbug - the same post style and often uses underlines. After he stopped posting as Vicksburg (banned maybe? or just lost all credibility) 2 new accounts spawned - TeamFortress and memoir - he trolls WAR and bash other games (like EVE) and brownosing blizzard crap - probably he is payed for virual marketing - check account details, create dates, how often he posts and post style.
Anyone who read these forums enough knows you won't bash WoW, even if WAR is the best thing to come out in years.
I'm looking forward to reading what you have to say.

WAR is the next "big contender" against the behemoth of WoW. The dev team claims they are not going after WoW numbers (BS, everyone is, it's called profit) and are just making a fun game to play.
If you are a hardcore WoW player, with little experience with other games and "used" to a certain way to play... WAR probably isn't going to appeal to you. There is an X-PAC coming for WoW, all the goodness that is WoW remade with all the things WoW players expect. Rep Grinds, Gear Grinds, Arena Grinds, and of course... gold grinding to get the "good new mounts". The objective of the game is still the same as it was on launch day, get more, better gear and be "better then the guys in town". The combat is the same as it was at launch in terms of encounters, they are always the same, every time. The BG's and Arena are still the gear based, rush to win tactics you've come to know, and love.
WAR is nothing like that.
WAR is a team based (I.E. your side) vs. the other guys. The best is nice, but wont' make you a monster, the encounters in PvE are still basically scripted like WoW but the meat fo the game is RvR and that means each battle, each day will be different. Yes zerging is gonna happen, but it's going to require more thought as players get used ot the game, and get better and understanding their classes and how to maximize their play.
And of course, the game is about WINNING, beating the other side, not about having the most geat, DKP or loot.
Which I think, will keep many WoW players out.

5. All I am saying is, if you prefer PvP/RvR War is the game for you, if you prefer grinding/raiding/PvE WoW is the game for you.

You can't assume for everyone who plays Wow, he doesn't like the PvP aspect of WOW.
Last weekend the 180.000 dollars WOW sponsored world championships in PVP were held.
WAR doesn't even have a PvP e-sport end game like Wow offers. So the PVE grinding compared to RvR/PvP is worthless UNLESS you state "I like the PvP of WAR more".
But you can't decide for others. if YOU prefer playing PvP in WAR, that doesn't mean the others like it.
Presuming it for everyone else - on a WoW forum - is even pure trolling on a Warcraft forum.
That makes you a hardcore fanboy and troll of a non published game.

Uh, lol, so pvp is WoW is THAT bad, that they need to PAY people to keep them playing? Hehe, that tells something about WoW's pvp.
I played WoW for 2 years and the PvP is and has always been a tacked on feature. I really did enjoy the game for a good while, I'll certainly give blizzard kudos, it's a solid game in about every aspect.. just not group PvP. There was never a reason to kill, other than the fact that you can.. and if you do, you get good gear. I probably ran all the end-game instances before BC about 100 times or more.. after I nailed 70 and got exalted in a few reps, I was done. I just couldn't commit 8 hours a day to be a step above the rest.. so, for ME, it's not the game for ME. At least not anymore.
I just tested out WAR, it looks promising. Character control is nowhere near WoW, yet. But there are a lot of really interesting features that involve the UI and questing that WoW has never had. It's a shame that it took this long for Blizzard to release a PvP focused expansion.. I would have probably never left.
I think it's just that for 80-85% of WoW's subscribers, it's their first MMO ever... so they really don't know any better..than to think that WoW's pvp is great. Solo PvP, awesome.. best ever... Grouped PvP, mediocre at best.. so if you add them together, in my opinion PvP is slightly above average.
