Best pvp realm for new player

hallyohallyo Member Posts: 44

Im finally thinking about opening my copy of WoW that I had for about 2 years(never was interested because i actively play Eq2 and lotr). A couple of my friends said they wanted to play too because of a new expansion coming out. My question is what is a good pvp based realm that has a meduim/high population with a decent amount of people in the noob zones? I understand that there is recmomended servers but they usally have very low populations and we would rather play with a larger community

Ugh there is no BEST pvp realm really. Stay away from the full servers or you'll find ques at peak hours (usually evenings or weekends). Id say join a medium population realm where the ally : horde ratio is more or less the same (there are sites to see the population ratio of each server). I used to play on Deathwing where the Horde out numberd the Allys almost 3:1. So you basically had paranoid ally lowbies running around with lvl 70 bodyguards instagibbing any horde they see whether he/she is a threat or not.

Other than that, you should be fine.

If you want a PvP server for world PvP or becuase you like looking over your shoulder while questing, join a HIGH pop server.  Cant realy name a perticular server as there are over 120 US PVP servers (229 ervers in total)

What might help you is this site, its not offical by any means but has some very very rough numbers of server populations.. class/hord/allaince etc. http://www.warcraftrealms.com/realmstats.php

If you are looking for pvp just buy war when it comes out, wow offers nothing for pvp'ers.

WoW doesn't offer nothing to PvPers, it has plenty of PvP.  Its just balanced around PvE, so the PvP isn't as in depth as a PvP game.

Warhammer's PVP really isn't all that groundbreaking either.  I think it will be the best on the market though for now.

Theres no good pvp server , the pvp ( even on pvp server ) consist of 4 BGs and 3 arena at lvl 70 . Sure you can bgs before 70 but you will most likely get destroyed by twinks . Anyways u gonna get destroyed by extremely geared ppl at 70 so its about the same .....

Just remeber the site is not official and neither are the pop numbers, its all gathered by players using a MOD and uploading data to the site.  Take all the stats with a bucket of salt.

I can only talk for Europe:

Al'Akir is one of the best PvP servers. Hard groups there and well organised. Some guilds there have ridicolous hi PvP requirements to join.

WoW is a PvE-oriented game. That's why people are leaving PvP for PvE servers.

That and PvP in WoW is a generally awful, mainly due to the fact that gear is of greater importance than either skill or strategy. Can anyone say level 19 twink battlegrounds?

Thus the answer to your question is: there is no best PvP realm.
