Alganon - New MMO from David Allen the original Horizons guy.

So I saw today that Mr. David Allen, the guy who came up with the oringial and amazing horizons idea is making a new MMO called Alganon. For those who recall, the original Horizons idea was brilliand and really something up and beyond anything that the market has seen thus far. Problem was, the company ran out of money, HZ was picked up by some company and made into the game it is today, a shell of its original concept.

 

anyway, if it's not vapour I hope the game will come to fruition, and have at least a quarter of the stuff the original HZ was planning. Here's the link - ALGANON

and speaking of vapour, anyone remember "Charr: The Grimm Fate"? another cool concept that never made it, nor Lejedary Adventures.

Sigh..... all the good ones get canned.

from the looks and reports on the site itself.. it will never hit beta at all... i think they froze the production

David Allen will most likey screw up anything he is associated with, just as he did to Horizons. The guy spent 4 years and 10 million USD and had nothing buy some artwork to show for it.

Ok instead of 90% players playing dragons ,what will his next gimmick be?That game didn't even utilize proper maps ,it was a sad effort IMO,and it is very hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

What i would expect from that guy,is a game on the EXACT same engine with pretty much the exact same game,different name.

I do not think it would be fair to judge David Allen based on the game Horizons as it was released.  He had left from the project long before it launched and many of his ideas were never implemented and those that were, were never fully fleshed out.  This is like blaming Raph Koster for the NGE that SOE subjected SWG to.
