I think those that complain about there being a lack of players on VG should up their rating on it.

 

It may seem minor, but people (me included) are greatly influenced by the user rating, I don't even consider those that are halfway down the list on hype meter.

So please, re-consider your ratings, put it in the top 5 or 10

Honestly I dont look at the ratings at all on this site because they can simply be altered to show better or worse by people who dont even play the games. I read comments here and elsewhere then check out the main site and any fan made sites, then if I like what I see I give the game a shot.

 

In Vanguards case I gave it a shot, was very unhappy and left but after seeing some of the most recent posts of things they have done and what players have been saying I gave the game a second shot and I am enjoying it but never once have I even considered the rank system on this or any other site.

I see your point,

but unless it was a particularly renowned game, I wouldn't look halfway down the list. Just me personally but I tihnk others may feel the same.

ie: People creating 5 or 6 accounts to rate AoC a 1 so their epeen feels good.

Definately, but the truth is, if someone is looking on the web for a new game to play and stumble across this site, they would generally look for something with a high rating. To a certain extent the rating system does work, as the more people that play the game rate it higher, meaning it's a popular choice.



but yeah, it shouldn't be taken seriously, it would just give it more promotion so to speak.
