Hello all I just wanted to make a small post about returning to swg. I decided that I will not play my old toons and will be starting from scratch since I hear this is the best way to learn how to play the game in its new state. I was wondering what server I should start on Chilastra,Bloodfin,Or Bria these seem to be the highest populated as of right now. I would also like to find out if Medic profession is still good and in High demand, I would also like to know which profession deals the most dmg as I like to play healer and dps. Thanx and I hope to see you in game soon! Please no flaming I am way way past pre-cu and want to stay positive as I start a new game. I plan on playing this game and EQ2 until The saga of Ryzom is back up and running.

hi there those are the high pop servers and community wise i they appear to be fine however I'm on another server so i wont comment beyond that :)

I used to be an MCM/ pistoleer and then later and MCM/Rifleman and at present I'm a bounty hunter actually since the first day the CU was introduced due to them removing the crafting element mostly I think.  Medics are still needed and they have squashed combat medic and doctor together so there is a set of good buffs as well as poisons and area heals.    I personaly can't play that proff anymore due to the fact that I enjoyed the other way better haha.    In the medic template are the ability to specialise in a ranged weapon as well so basically the combos up top that I was once upon a time still exist minus the crafting element.

Medics seem to be pretty decent soloers if they use their expertise forr poisons and solo type stuff however it does make them less of a grouper as a result.

The  are very needed in groups for heroics we take two for them and anything that has a group activity people want medics in their groups so they are quite handy (even jedi want them for their buffs and extra heals haha)

i had considered creating an alt medic once I am all bounty hunted out but haven't reached that point yet.

hey, good luck to you in the game, as for servers i play on Starsider which also has a stable (and in fact, growing) population. As for your profession questions Medic is in fairly high demand for instance runs and such, i genreally get asked for at least 2-3 groups a day for a run, Officcer has very high dps if your looking for that also.

and, as a final couple comments i think it would be a good idea to reactivate your old account, if only for a month to get all of the old pre-nge etc items which are genreally pretty valueable and could go for a pretty penny.(if you dont want em you couldjust give em to me ;) ) and finally, if your looking for real information go to the officcial SWG boards, as your not likley to get more than "just let the game die" from this board.

Just a side note: There is no need to abandon your main if you're worried about getting used to combat.

The learning curve isn't bad...and honestly if you've played EQII or LOTRO it's basically the same...except with blasters.

...ok, to be fair there may be some other major cannonical differences, but combat isn't rocket science.

Just map auto fire to an easily reached key (mine is "r") and experiment with your specials.

Have fun and welcome back no matter what though!

Those three probably are the highest populated servers. Not sure if you would be interested, but several people (myself included) decided to start fresh on Kettemoor recently. The population is not nearly as high as the ones you are thinking of, but about 50 characters are all just now starting to level so I think there would be plenty willing to help out at low level and actually help you as you progress. Since you have character slots, it might be worth rolling one just to check it out.

DS jedi is a DPS dealing monster atm.

If interested - shoot an email imtheboss, hunnymonster or hosal on Kettemoor.
