This might sound a little crazy to some of you, but I'm hoping that Conan is a rather huge success. I'm hoping that it does more than just a couple hundred thousand subs, but something more like 2 million subs or more. Why? Thanks for asking. 
I'm tired of WoW being the only bully on the block that's loved to be hated. If Conan does really well, like 2 million well, it will take a lot of the heat off of WoW. No longer will WoW be the defacto standard that everyone must copy to make a buck. No longer will WoW be the only game that every single new MMO that comes along gets compared too. No longer will WoW's PvP or end-game be the only one to be poked, prodded and panned.
I've been lurking on the Conan forums and I've already started to see it. The haters coming to rip the game for every single thing they consider a flaw and the fanboi's being forced to come to it's defense. Let's face it, the better that Conan does, the more the heat will shift to that forum and the less it will be here. Think about it for a second, can you imagine actually logging into the forums and NOT seeing a "WoW will die" thread? That would make my day.
Imagine being able to discuss the game again like a normal MMO. Maybe we could actually talk about the upcoming expansion without being dragged into the whole "WoTLK will be just like BC" mud. Maybe we could actually say that we are looking forward to the new Death Knight class without someone claiming they were promised at launch. Maybe we could just sit back and enjoy the game again without being told that we are the worst community in the history of the planet and anyone who likes the game is either too young, too dumb or too nieve to know any better.
I know, it's a lot to imagine and probably no matter how successful AoC is, we still probably won't see things get that crazy around here, but I can dream can't I?
Be careful what you wish for Conan fans. You might just get it.

It's ok, no need to apologize. I realize you didn't mean any harm, I just thought it was funny. And don't you hate that there's no delete button? I've been there myself.
Oh it's been rather enjoyable Pappy.
Nothing against the game, I've happily played for the past week. But, I do think it's funny when I see the myriad of 'haters should go somewhere else' posts and threads.
