What things do you HAVE to pay for?

There is a lot of complaining about the payment features for this game, but no one really seems to give a clear explanation for it.  Talking about things like "rebirth" and the different "cards" don't mean anything to non-players without a description.  So, how about explaining some things:

1.  Do you NEED a premium membership to play the game from beginning level to last player level?

2.  How many FREE character slots do you get?

3.  What is there in the game that you NEED to pay for that can't be achieved through gameplay?

There is a difference between needing something to PLAY vs. needing something to COMPETE.  Casual players may be fine with games that move at a slower pace for non-premium members.  BUT, if you can't play several parts of the game without paying for it, then that's not quite as well-recieved.

    1) There is no such thing as premium membership. There is a Fantasy Life Package which includes extra services (e.i. NPC auto revival, extra storage, and extra items.)

    2) You have only 1 free char slot. The others you need to pay for, which is about $7 - $10. To create a character, you use what is called a character card. There are 2 types of char cards, basic and premium. A basic card is one that has all the normal hairs, faces, etc. A premium card lets you choose more of those hairs, faces, etc.

3)In Mabinogi, there is a storyline, but to get that, you need to purchase of its services. The 1 week free trial counts. There is only 2 skills that you can get from finishing the storyline, and that is to turn into a Paladin or Darkknight. Everything else is free.

Oh and one last thing, in this game, you get skills by using AP on them. To get AP you can age in this game or level. I recommend you start at age 10 since you will get more AP for skills.

But there is a downside to this game, when you go above age 25, (or 25 weeks) you do not gain any AP, that is what "rebirthing is for." You literally rebirth and begin at any age you want to, but only the ages you have been through. To rebirth you need to buy any character card and use it in the rebirth option.
