Hi, just wanted to mention from reading posts on here and checking out the actual website I decided to give the game a run. Got a new beast of a system being delivered here next week and have AoC on pre-order; but, I am a gamer who likes diversity, so I tend to bounce between games a lot.
Looking forward to trying it out. I'll post later on what I think about it.

Which game did you buy (Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall)? Would suggest you to give it some time too; it's when you got access to a decently large amount of skills that it becomes fun. At that point you have to start considering how to put them together for best performance from your character, and that's what makes this game what it is, tactical. Apart from that I would urge you to check out the GWWiki, for information regarding the game, and PvXWiki, to see what combinations works good and which ones doesn't, although PvX will only become necessary later on; however it may still be enjoyable to see that the system is so "deep".
I usually play through a game before I give it a judgment. Its hard to generalize a game just from playing it a few weeks. I'll check out the sites you linked.
I bought the platinum edition with EN expansion. Seemed like a good deal to me. Anyhoo, eatin lunch and installing it now.

Good luck
I'm sure you'll enjoy it, especially if you're jumping between it and AoC. You should be playing for ages.
Most important advice I give all newbies:
Hitting level cap and getting Max Armor/Weapons ISN'T the end; it's only the beginning.
