Check out this group of Closed beta testers who rolled on the open beta server just to gank during the FFA. They are so proud of their actions... Its sickening.

Let them be please. Just like EVERY other game with FFA PvP servers, they will limp along for a while then become ghost towns then the PvPers will come to the forums and bitch and moan and blame carebears for the death of their beloved pvp.
Lmao as much as i love pvp that is one of the worst communities i have ever seen in those yrs i been playing in FFA rulesets
I know! That makes me so mad I just wanna strangle puppies.
Edit: maybe I'm wrong but I think they are being sarcastic.
Those guys Kraytdragon and Soulbound are absolute retards, I like PVP but those people are the the kind that give PVP'ers bad names.
I see that history is already repeating itself
I'm a big ol' fluffy carewolf. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
I just came across this on the AoC forums. Its from an article on Gamespy dated May 1st.
http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/age-of-conan-hyborian-adventures/870785p4.html
at the end of page 4 this is mentioned...
"When we started out the system was very refined, and as time went on and iterations were applied, we made it more and more brutal every time. So right now it's open, free-for-all, you do what you want. Nothing is stopping you. The only exception to whom you may kill are zone-based. Certain zones are PvP-disallowed. In particular, those are the big major cities, the hubs as we call them. Apart from that, there isn't any level cap, there isn't anything stopping you from going after people.
There are, however, post-zoning and post-death invulnerabilities. We don't want [people getting] respawn-point ganked or anything like that. You will have enough time to get wherever you want.
It doesn't cover all my PVP concerns like during npc interaction how the screen is taken over. But it does cover zoning and respawns. What confuses me is why this "post-death invulnerability" was lifted during this final FFA PVP test phase unless they actually wanted this gank fest to take place. When I was leveling in the noob Isle I remembered seeing this post death protection just the day before they patched the PVP in on friday. So it was either a glitch? or it was removed intentionaly.

Well done Funcom !
Instanced gaming , high machine requirements , grind raid oriented , simplistic crafting
and probably the gank friendliest server rules ever devised.
Wonder how long will pass after the launch , until Funcom realizes the boat is sinking , and start changing everything - including server rules , in desperate effort to save the game....
Shame really.
It could be such a great game
I'm glad our guild is starting on PvE server.
The chat in open beta is worse than barrows in WoW.Amazing how many retarded comments people can make in the chat.Just because it's FFA pVP people think they are allowed to say anything. It might be rated M for mature but there is nothing mature happening in the global chat in OB.
Starting on a PvE server give people time to level and in the meantime Funcom hopefully can fix their game until we're ready to get guildcities and battlekeeps because as it is now it's not quite ready.
There are so many things that is missing/flawed/bugged and it's amazing how different playexperiences people have when it comes to performance. Some people playing on state of the art PC's that cost 3K+ can't play the game and some on 1 years PC's can.
Looks like Funcom still have a lot of work to do the following months.
I start at release and hope they improve their game in time for guildcities/crafting/battlekeeps sieges.
If they don't i guess i have to hope for Mythic to deliver a better PvP game.

I've made up my mind and I'll start with the PvE, that way I can avoid the ghost town servers/character moving etc. which is pretty obvious to happen.
The open pvp servers will be ghost towns in 3 months. Some big guild will form on each one and drive everyone else off the servers. Happens every time. You just cannot have ffa pvp without having some limiting rules, it just does not work. It has been proven time and time again. Anyone that says otherwise, just look at every ffa pvp server in any game.
You said before your computer can't run it. I know you are mad but stop wasting everyones time; just go to the WAR forums or something I really don't care but stop crying - it's getting annoying.
Why do you post your BS here? You obviously don't like the game. Instancing is mostly at the beginning....many areas are open n you can do alot of things in those open areas. High end machine...many are playing on med/high end...no your 10 yr old pc won't run the game. Some ppl are having issues on both low n high end rigs which should mostly be worked out by release. Grind is the same as any other game...what do you expect. Raids are not available till lvl 80...endgame...so how does that constitute as a total raid game? Have you yet experienced crafting? I wouldn't mind it being simpler that way it is more accessable to more ppl. As for gankfest...yes this ONE day of PvP was a gankfest...but that is by no means what the servers will be like after release.
Just ignore Lobo like almost everyone else does. Quoting him or replying to him directly will get you no where as he doesn't listen to anyone. He just spews out crap endlessly.
I think the hardcore PvP that happened yesterday scared even some hardcore PvPers to a PvE server lol. I like to PvP myself but FFA is not for me, its something of an aquired taste i think. It never ceases to make me smile when people start feeding the trolls .... threads like that are always worth a read.
I do think the Carebear label is getting a bit old though just like the WoW kiddie label is. The guys entitled to his opinion, although he could have perhaps put it in a different way. Like i said FFA isnt for everyone so let the hardcore guys have their server and the PvE guys will have theirs.
Sadly I have to agree... not a big fan of the in game community thus far. In fact, I'd say LoTRO had a MUCH better community during beta and still has an excellent community. I'm hoping to start on an RP server if I join Age of Conan... Role Players TEND to be more mature peole who just want to have an imersive experience online from my experience...
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
I have never been into pvp but i had a pretty enjoyable time minus the respawn deaths. Some peeps did sit by the respawn points and as you were loading up before you could move your health was almost at zero. That was my only gripe with the pvp. Maybe FC shouldve gave ya like a minute to move to a better position before these guys would get their rocks off repeated killing you as ya loaded. But all in all the combat was fast paced and fun. Can't wait til the 17th.
I was going to reply to the thread, but I think the last reply in the thread was good before it got closed.
PVP is NOT about being higher level than someone else, or having teamspeak. It's about the challenge and excitement of attacking or being attacked at any time. The end of AoC OB did not provide this challenge or excitement, any more than entering cheat codes in online chess would make you a real life chess master.
All of that said, they are patching more and more as we get closer to launch. I hope this changes, because I was looking forward to a challenging and dynamic PVP system.

But...why didnt you make them pay? They should be crying by now.
And why play on a FFAPvP server if you dont like PvP ?
Remember that the PvP weekend was a test weekend. AoC is stil in beta you know.
That's why I made it a personal point to nuke those guys into the dust. Anytime i saw some people hanging around there waiting for people to load up, they were prime target.
Sometimes some innocents got caught int he crossfire, but i tried to wait til they got a little ways from the pad.
Promise....
I love how jumping unsuspecting people along with 3-4 of your like-minded coward pals is a reason to boast. I take solace in the fact that most of the gankers this weekend can't afford the retail game so they'll move on to another e-peen growing activity.
Havent tried the game yet but this post summarises what pvp means to the hardcore fans pretty well. Ganking is NOT part of that.
I've learned that people that gank are usually the worst players, or else they would have no reason to gank.
This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.
The PVP FFA convinced me to join a PVP server. I was originally going to play a PVE server, but the whole... open warfare on everyone was a lot of fun. Sure I got ganked a lot, but I also managed to kill as many, so all in all it was a pretty good experience.

I'm a huge fan ov PvP, but....I will not be playing on a PvP server. I want to play the game without always watching my back, worried if the guy in my party is going to gank me. PVE is where I will be till they realize this is a mistake. FFA PvP is not a good idea on Funcoms part. You will have elitest guilds forming to dominate the servers. Soon as you log in to the game, step out...get jumped, respawn, get jumped, respawn, over and over. Thumbs down on not having factions or some sort of control. Without control, you have chaos, with chaos you have frustrated people who won't play the game or all roll on a pve server.
