I saw a fix on these forums cant find it though. Anyone know how to fix this?

Problem solved.
Happened to me too- I had to bump the resolution down on the patch screen to 1280x1024 and then I could see everything.
you can also start the game in windowed mode for the first time, and then switch to full screen within the game.
Only needs to be done once.
