Quick question about 'good' and 'evil'

OrecetsOrecets Member Posts: 7

I opened an account to play with my friends, who, for some reason wanted to be faries and elves, whatever I wont judge (dorks).

My problem, being a normal heterosexual red blooded male, is that I want to play the cooler dragon people race (sarnaks or something like that?) Does this mean we wont be privy to the same quests or be able to run in the same circles?

Should I also be some type of fairy, or elf to make life easier? Bleh.

Frogs are kinda cool I guess.

Thanks for the help sirs and maams!

it does effect ur gameplay abit. i.e. u cant go to the major city's of opposite factions. so especially at start u wont be able to get the same quests as ur friend ( tbh i dont know how it works with the sarnaks, cuz i havent played that race myself, perhaps u cant go into any of the major cities at all.. )

hope that helps u pick up the right classes mate, good luck :)

    if questing in Kunark,

it largely does NOT make a difference  (beyond housing and city writs)

Timorous Deep is the best questing area in game under 20

-- and has insane quest rewards

best gear in game under 20, nothing compares to it

    ALL factions and races can

    - Quest,  Sell,  use Broker in Timorous Deep

    eq2.wikia.com/wiki/Timorous_Deep_Timeline

but only Evils can have housing there

Sarnak City guards (Gorowyn) do not attack anyone

Evils can also do most the under 20 quest in Greater Fay - but you wont be able to sell there

    After level 20,

it largely doesnt matter, everyone has access to 99% of the same quests

    (not including city writs)

Thanks for taking the time to help a noob.

My friends are level 20, but will 'mentor' or something to help me catch up.

Kunark should have plenty of content from 20 on for the three of us to group up on right? it was all higher level content back in EQ1 so this is just an assumption on my part.

EQ2 Kunark is mostly for level 65+,  beyond the starting area for under 20

take your friends to quest at Mok Rent for level 15-20 questing

    - the quest gear is *well* worth it

beyond that, recommend sticking with EOF content,  like Butcherblock at 20+
