I have not played for about 2-3 years now. I was thinking about returning with my Ranger for a while. Will I still be able to play him?
I was amazed how long CoH and EQ held onto my characters when I unsubscribed from them. Will DAoC be the same?

They will most likely still be there.
Mythic, as I remember it had a policy where they keep your characters regardless of how long you've been away. I've quit for more then a year and gone back to find them exactly where I left them. I'm sure other companies have similar practices.
No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

Mythic never deletes characters. They will be stored forever just as you left them. 5 weeks or 5 years, doesn't matter.
