Ive got bored of SWG and im looking for a new MMO.
I noticed this had a 7 day free trial, but wait, wahts this?
Not only do i have to enter card details, but they will charge me for a supposed 'Anniversary' price until september 1st.
ffs, i jsut want to try it, 7 days is plenty, doont see why i have to enter pages of information and card details, jsut so incase i forget to cancel they can rob me...
..heres an idea, how about a 7 day free trial, that lasts 7 days?
They are very confusing on the site, but what they actually mean is this:
37 day free trail...if you dont cancel within a week we charge you $9.95, then normal rate after that. That i can understand. The reason im annoyed with this is i have normal cashpoint and debit cards, but i dont have a visa/mastercard, etc....so i have to go through the trouble of getting my dad to lend me his visa , enter all HIS details, just to try a game i may hate. Which he wont do, cos i already have to use his card for SWG, and im sure he will be hesitant to flash his card around willy nilly to companies that try and trick you out of every penny you have.
pls Funcom, take a tip from EvE on this one, make free trials a trial of the game, not some promotion created to try and hook people into a payment option.

If you have to use a CC it means that they can control so not same person make tons of accounts, harder for people to start accounts to spam official forum too.
Just create the account and cancel it same day, how hard can that be?

I must agree with Vegetto.
A lot of other companies already offer trials without need for a CC (in fact I think AO is the only one I know that is requiring it).
7 days is not long enough to have people open multiple accounts but fairly enough to get a feeling of the game and if it's worth paying the bucks to keep it.
This is great tho that we can actually download the whole game!
If you don't like from AO, remember to cancel your subscription, before trials ends!!!
The trial is considered a purchase unless you cancel before the seven-day period is over. If you do not cancel you will be charged accordingly and the trial turns into a permanent account.
