Fury on PS3 and Xbox 360 ?? please read

this is a theory but thought out not detaild just thought out ... u can draw ur own conclusions however the reason im posting this is bc i want to see something good still come from FURY .. in this regard i know ot redevelop for console would cost money im sure investors are willing to pay but if they could figure it out imagiine the possibilities ..... Oh and sorry for the wall of text lol.

Ok so PVP based MMO hasnt been the greatest idea for a PC based game. In todays world to many games are being compared to WoW and yes they should be , for several reasons. [ I personally do not play WoW now did for 2 mos and quit] I however would also have to say Guild Wars should now be put into that category as something to compare the success of MMO's to this day. Both blizzard and Arena Net have set a par for their subscription models as well as there innovation with in the games we play and love so much. In a article [called HOW TO BUILD A SUCCESSFUL MMO ]  release from a convention Jeff strain of Arena net once said " he hoped to come there to say what the next wave of games would be for the next 10 yrs for MMO and other pc games but he couldnt and didnt want to because like with Arena net he was hoping that someone else would break the mold and come up with a new and innovative gaming experience" ....

Now thats where FURY and Auran had the idea breaking the mold and settin a new par for innovative gaming more so they were targeting the pvp style audience. However i wonder if maybe the PC online community approach was wrong and if a true pull thru could be made might have been more successful as a console game. In the past on consoles a slew of fighting games have actually been the turning point as well as the par for next game consoles. Examples are like Tekken took PS1 to the top along with FF7 of course, DoA for the original xbox.  Streetfighter  series on Sega and Super Nintendo. Currently games that once did way better on PC have made their way to consoles and enjoying much success such as FPS and RTS games. Games like Cod4 which is cross platform is enjoying a lot of success on console becoming GoY for 2007, while a game like UT3 being dumbed down has hurt PC sales but started strong on Console [ somethng bout this UE3 engine + sonys ps3 is actually ran off that engine ironically ] ...anyhow back on subject. .....

Now in defense of FURY maybe they shoulda thought Console for many different reasons one being FURY is nothing more than a FIGHTING GAME in its truest form. And Fighting games definitely do well on console as well as the console needs a new fighting game genre to come to it ... something along the lines of Massive multiplayer like,  yet simple and direct. No matter how many skills or armors or weaps u collect the main point is to battle ur opponent and beat them and thats what Fury is all bout. With it being on console they would have a more polished and defined game and definitely more finalized for release. They could have still made artificing , the same game type maps, and more. Sure they would have to make the UI a lil more console friendly but that wouldnt even be our thought if it were console only to begin with cos the game woulda been designed for controller layout not keyboard and mouse.

Infact the payout would have been the same off the start and probably would have actually made more in long run and we woulda never heard Auran going outta business news thru december and since. Whats more is they coulda still downsized the development team , this sometimes happens after a game is released as the actual development or main development is done u only need a handful of ur main ppl to  continue ur developments, if need be but on a more voluntary basis ... as to make new maps and content that could have made them even more money later via Downloadable content PSN or XBL networks. Which brings us to another case and point Servers .... With PSN they have servers already up and running as well as Microsoft which though subscription based for Multiplay are all doing well for their consoles ...especially XBL [ believe they hit 10 mill subscribers recently] which means Auran wouldnt have had to provide their own servers which obviously cost to maintain. And even if they still wanted to do that they could have as some games that are on those networks still run their own servers like FF and Phantasy star as well as could still charge a small monthly fee. May not have went over well but for the right games ppl will pay its proven.

And just for a last tid bit ill throw this in ... Epic makers of GoW  and the UE3 currently seems to be in favor of ps3 and sony division over what used to be strongly backing on microsoft, part of this is infact due to the PS3 technology.  Epics UT3 was able to come out on the PS3 console first as Sony uses part of the UE3 for its technology inside the Console if im not mistaken ... anyhow Fury also uses this same engine and its seemingly easy to see that Sony needs new games for its console not ones that have been rereleased over a yr later from another system. Now that coulda been that ground breaking game for the next game consoles .. FURY ANYONE .... and with the success of XBL how could u pass up the oppurtunity to have as many ppl actually playing ur game as whats playing WoW ?? ...

So in short i finalize this thread with this :

Fury could have been looked at in many a different ways for marketing  but the one way we dont see is was the true way to go that was NExT GeN console gaming. Here they coulda formed a rock solid plan had time to manuever and the set backs and testing QA for final release wouldnt have been as compromised. Fury is and will be nothing more than a fighting game with great potential but fighting games belong and have ruled in arcades and now on console not on the PC. Maybe some dev will read this and im not just talkin Aurans .. im talkin the one that might break the mold set a new par  and take this into consideration and make that game. Fury was a good game still can be and has room to grow. But who knows maybe if they do nad make enough to come back on we could see FURY 2 on our favorite console.

While I applaud your effort, it's for naught. The dismal failure that is Fury will ensure that there will never be a Fury 2, and no console will ever port Fury over just to lose money on the discs noone will buy.

I agree , the point to the thread was really how a simple approach or marketing decision could have taken something like Fury into a more competitive and oppurtunistic market. The whole approach itself seems like it would have been more profitible as well as solidified but yet an easy overlook when thinkin of what they could have done instead.

Hmm  a very good point Jaigaia. I could totally see that Fury might of been more popular in the console rather than the PC. Most likely they didn't have the funds to put it in consoles like the PS3 since its costs alot more money to produce under Sony.
