I'm playing it atm, imo it's like Harvest Moon meets Generic Asian MMO #2043.
Still, it's fun and different, definitely better than 99.9% of the other F2P MMOs out there.

I just cant stand playig all the generic F2P Asian MMOs anymore. It reminds me of the old MUD days, when hudreds of MUDs sprang up and everyone had the same starting area

acctually ive been playing this game since japanese release and i have to say its the best damn f2p on the market, not saying that others are bad but those are all [ctrl+c][ctrl+v] type games this is new and some what skill based

There is nothing Harvest Moon about Mabi except its graphics. And there's nothing asian about it except its developers' country of origin.
No matter. Like the poster above I too have played this game for 3 weeks in a foreign version, and I liked what I saw.
I'll eagerly wait for its open beta, since it's the only sandbox MMO coming out this year and next.
Mabinogi, simply put, is the BEST F2P MMORPG out there. It's that simple. There's some much to do, from fishing, to growing crops, to raiding dungeons and fighting ginormous bosses with your friends. There's also a job system that allows you to take part time jobs and complete them for money,
Also, the skill upgrade system is neat. There's a unique combat system that's a little like rock paper scissors with swords lol. There is a free class system. You are able to be whatever you want to aspire to be. If you want to play music with lutes, go ahead! Wanna shoot off some fire balls? Sure! How bout just smashing huge golems in the head with big hammers. Be my guest.
Also, if anyone else hates hackers, this game has been proven to be un-hackable. The only thing that was able to get through on either JP or KR games were botters. But botters really don't help in this game since there is a camping penalty.
Later on they will add new classes, the NA version only has humans at the moment. If I am correct, the other versions also have elves and giants.
Overall though, if you like any MMORPG in general. You'll love this game. Get a key on file planet and play it. NOW!

Not sure where that puts us at the moment, but it'll be a little bit. Mmorpg has a bunch of beta keys also, but I couldn't find them for the life of me earlier.

If someone do more damage to the stuff you are fighting they get the kill and the loot, titles, everything. It doesn't matter if you are fighting the monster first. I can only wonder how many people are gonna be whinning KS and Ninja. Obviously the developers haven't considered how anti-sociable some players can be.

yeah thats where i got it from was fileplanet...and im loving every minute of it. Its a great game i hope it gets better in the future.
It will ^_^ Counting that this is only closed beta and we have very limited content. After we get a few episodes in there, I think everyone will agree that this game is absolutely wonderful.

Because I'm not 2 years old. And I don't watch Pokemion. So I'm not gonna play a game with graphics made for 2 year olds. i don't care how good the gameplay is
I really dont care for other ppl on this site and their negativity towards something that they have nothing to do with, this game is fun mainly to those who have played it. Its all in the eye of the beholder, and personally i can see my self playing this game for a long time despite that its only in closed beta at the moment.

You guys are such stereotypers.
First of all, anime is not made for two year olds. Pokemon is not the only anime in the world, and that wasn't even marketed to kids really (even though they love it).
Second of all, since when did graphics > gameplay? Mabinogi's graphics are still pretty dam good for a F2P MMO, even if you don't like anime graphics. But it still has some of the best gameplay in ANY MMO out there, yes including the P2P ones.
Third of all, why does everyone think that because some Asian games are grindy, that every single one of them are. I mean, yeah games like maplestory and Yulgang are pretty bad. But I was able to get to level 10 in about... hmm 1 hour maybe? It's not a grind at all, and I barely even noticed I was leveling cause I had so much fun.
Anyways, that's my rant for the day.

Gameplay beats out graphics pretty much everytime. Mabinogi has decent graphics, great gameplay, I'll take that trade off.

As an interesting side note: All thirteen episodes of Elfen Lied were aired on regular Japanese television. They don't have the same media standards and practices that we have over here.
If I'm not mistaken, the brunette chick from the beginning of the EL clip doesn't get killed.... I think she just gets both here arms and legs chopped off, but I could be thinking of a different series....
Oh god, that was horrible. But I like the giant cat rocket... gotta get me one of those.
Off-topic: Elfen Lied is one of the best anime series.
