I've played GW since 2005 through the 3 campaigns but i stopped playing about 6 months ago.

Now i'm about to play GW again but on a new computer and i have this question :

Is there a way to download a kind of patch that would include most updates esp those that apply globally to the campaign (as compared to area specific updates that you get when going from town to town) ?

I'm a bit worried about the time i'll have to wait to start again in Ascalon for instance. If i could upload a big file with a download accelerator that would be better.

Is anyone aware of such an option ?

Nope, everything is streamed from ArenaNet's servers. However you can temporarily add the "-image" argument to your desktop shortcut and download every updated file at once to save you from the trouble of having to stream stuff every time you zone.

Remember that the game won't launch with that argument, delete it once you're done updating.

I wasn't aware of the -image option. i guess it's the best i can get.

one for patching using -image and one for playing the game
