Here she be what do you thinks???

Just wondering if the quad core is really worth it for a primarily gaming machine?

Im gonna be running xp so i dont really see the use at the moment.

Depends. There aren't really many apps out right now optimized for multi threading, so much of the quad core goes to waste right now.

However, you could buy the quad core and easily overclock it to around 3.0ghz with a stock cooler, and probably higher with a better fan.

The dual core has a higher front side bus though, and the 3ghz cost roughly the same as the 2.4ghz quad.

Either one is nice, at the moment you'd probably get better gaming performance from the 3ghz dual core with the 1333fsb than you would with the quad core.

    D.

Simple answer for your simple question: no, it's not worth it.

I am currently using the E6750, and it has been orgasmic. You will not regret it.
