Will we be forced to purchase fuel for our ships, or will the power be supplied via a capacitor/fusion reactor combo?
I'm not advocating the need for fuel, but it could open up interesting scenarios. Blockading faction space to starve out fuel lines, fighting over particularily rich fuel-grade roids, researching more fuel-effecient technologies. How about a preformance boost with fueled engines over fusion-power engines?
There are no fuel requirements. But there are all different kinds of power plants , that are manufactured in different places in the galaxy. One example is , the Quantar nation used a power plant called an instigator or Gator for short for it's premier fighter, the Phoon. The Gator was manufactured in Amananth station, which was a very long way from Quantar Core.
We started a convoy on night, 12 haulers with a group of about 12 fighters flying cover. The trip thru unregulated space was pretty easy, but once we arrived at Amanath station both the Sol and Oct forces where waiting for us. To make an exciting story short, we made it back with about 8 haulers and 8 or 9 fighters left. Quantar Core was once again stocked with the best power plant for our fighters.

Are you actually in-game and playiing? Or are you role-playing for our benefit here?
If you are actually playing, can you describe the ship controls and how the mouse is used to control your ship?
That was from ingame play. I use a joystick myself, the game has a partially newtonion physics engine. So it's very close to what you would imagine space travel to be. The more you weigh the more you have to compensate for the drift. So driving a big old hauler is tough and takes a ton of skill. Something you can try is, download the old jumpgate classic and try the offline flight out. The graphics are dated, but the flight engine is sweet.

Just off the top of my head.
So, there is no fuel requirement? Great!
