Trial myth?

Is it true that if you play the 14-day trial then when you buy the RoK expansion on an account that never had EQ2 before, you will not be able to redeem the free 30 days? Apparently there was a lot of buzz on this topic about a week or two ago.

I spoke with TSR Ken C. on live chat. It seem if the account was ACTIVE (playing the trial) when we pre-ordered RoK, we didn't get our free month. But if the trial was over, it was fine.

 

other people have ordered the game, using their trial account, and got their 30 free days

I had the trial on my account which I played about 2 months ago, last week I bought RoK and I got my free 30 days.
