So how do I re-activate my old account. Do I need the old CD-key I used for that account? please answer

Even if you haven't activated your account it's the same. Just login and click on the FFXI crystal. From there there will be a menu to reactivate your account. I think you have to go to the ffxi site if they actually closed down your account.
