what are world passes?

what exactlt are world passes.....because i was thinking of getting into the game again and my friends said if i did they would get me a world pass to there server...so how exactly does that work....

Ahhh u know how u get randomly put onto a server? well World passes allow you to pick any server u want. When u make a character during the name maker area underneath it is World and world pass no. (i think) for world input the server u want (for ex: Shiva, Odin, Ifrit) and the one underneath it is for the actually number. You can buy them at NPC's for roughly 1-2k depending on factors that i am not aware of atm. Just remember to write down the number (its long). Also up to 5 people can use it during a certain period of time (or actually 5 time uses) so share it with your friends if they want to join u in the same server. That'll be all

Well see I lsot all my log in and playonline info so i might jsut buy a new game and start over...(i was only 10 war 10 mnk 6 thf) so no biggie....

so if i just do that would i still have to like use the world pass or can i pick a server

No you can never pick your server, ever.  Why they do this I have no idea.
