It would have been deleted even if he gloryfied the game into the heavens. It simply an rule on these forum that if you break an NDA the post will get deleted. The content of the post does not really matter much. Also I do belive that Conan might have some immature poeple early in the game, I do belive that most of these folks will not be stuck with this game. (Come on.....I am sure after seeing those boobs 3 times even the most obsesed person gets bored of them).

WAR will most likely have an more immature comunity. Becouse of how it seems to look like World Of Warcraft and it seems to be "easier" to play.

Personly I will give both games an try. I think both will have there charms, but WAR will most likely not keep me occupied for a long time and I be getting bored of that game in a couple of days. Not sure if that is treu in  Conan.

Maybe i'm being overly judgemental, a lot of decent people will be there as well but sadly you always notice the bad over the good.

actually the WoW crowd will go to WAR, because it's basicly the same game.

Hype . . . cuz it worked for Vanguard!

  • This is exactly the stance I'm taking right now. The way that I am looking at AoC and WAR is as follow:

AoC has probably a 30% chance of being an original, great, and successful game. 50% chance of failing and 20% chance of being a mediocre game.

WAR has a 90% chance of being a pretty good game that is definitely better than WoW.

If AoC's system actually works out, the pvp is good, the guild system is unique and leads to great pvp and politics, this game will blow WAR out of the water. As I said though, probably only a 30% chance. BUT if it does deliver, it'll be amazing.

There's almost no way WAR will fail. It's got a huge fan base, devs that know what they're doing, and they're working on a proven and stable MMO system. The game offers little originality though, and it'll just be a few steps above WoW, it doesn't have the potential to be an incredible and unique game like AoC could be, because it's not trying to do anything original; they are taking the sure bet and going with what they know works.

I'll definitely try both games, but I'm hoping that 30% chance that AoC is something I can truly say I've never played before actually happens. If it does, AoC will be the only unique game on the market.

I dont know if you only trying to be important or how you suck that percentage from fingers, but its nonsense. Your post have some good ideas but I am almost 93,5% sure, that "perecents" made your post about 87,7% less intelligent.

The issue in WAR of resetting the battlefield causes me great concern.Sure it's great fun to rvr but there has to be more than a temporary reward for victory.Seems like  the devs are expressing an extreme concern about realm balance  by resetting and starting rvr over and over and over.

Victory has to be temporary, or that's the end of the game. You log off, retire your toon, and you're done.

I really like the reset idea. It keeps you from getting discouraged when you lose, and it keeps it fun so it's not always so imbalanced. Each reset will be different. Some people will stay on that server, some will leave, new people will join, and so on. It doesn't just get into a static situation where one side is always kicking the others sides ass, like some of the DAoC servers.

Once one side is really whomping the other, it tends to stay that way. With a reset, it's a chance at a fresh start. May not work like that in practice, but I'm interested to see it first hand. I wonder if the servers will keep score of the resets? A scoreboard of the past would be fun to see.

I will pre order WAR. I usually don't do that, but I'm definitely going to try this one. May be fun, may suck, but i'm going to give this one a try. DAoC was one of my favorite MMORPGs, and I hated WoW, so there's a good chance I will like WAR.

AOC, I will wait for the reviews once it releases. If people say it's fun, and it doesn't have concole players in the game, I may give it  a try.

      Can't wait for Warhammer.

Looks like DAOC 2 set in the warhammer universe = win

The city's do not just get reset.  Over time npc's get spawned and attempt to retake the city, the longer you hold it the more npcs get spawned.  If you have a large enough force to defend that city it will take a while for the NPC's to finally gain control.

People stop thinking the city automatically gets reset after x amount of time once you capture the enemy capital.  Thats not how it works at all.

Noone really knows how successfull each game will be but I am going with Age of Conan.

AOC - The graphics alone just make you want to atleast try this game. The character classes are really nice. Guilds can actually build your own cities I am not a major pvper but the pvp in this game looks to be alot of fun and different from what we have seen. One of the most appealing things to this game is that it isn't a copy of another game. I don't like cartoony orcish/elf fantasy games which thank god this game isn't that. We have had enough of those already. A big tumbs up to Funcom for actually being different than everyone else who makes mmo games.

Warhammer - Shows nothing majorly appealing. We have already seen the orc/elf/dwarf theme done a million times. Too cartoony and seriously lacks the " omg I wan't to play this game right now' factor. Public quests don't get me pumped up for this game and neither does the pvp. Recently they announed they were going to implement forts, keeps and siege weapons. Honestly, the new things should have been implement many months ago. I doubt they will even make their Q2 release.
