once eq2 comes out

I was wondering how many people are gonna keep playing EQ1 once EQ2 comes out.......

will anyone play both????

and how many of you will drop eq1 completely or just stay with eq1....

    As long as Sony Online Entertainment can make money off of players they will keep releasing expansions. If people keep laying Sony Online keeps making. I think that everquest will not do well when everquest 2 and world of warcraft comes out. However, I think it will still be in business and still be out for several months after.

     

    Also, I don't think it is safe to say that anyone will continue to play everquest when everquest 2 is released. We don't know how good it will be.

    Some people are acting like EQ2 will be a free patch.  The game will be around $50 US when it first some out.  Most EQ players are not going to chunk out that kind of cash until we KNOW the game is good.  There was a lot of talk when I was playing Asheron's Call and AC2 was coming out.  It's a rough guess but maybe 10%-20% of the people in AC got AC2 as soon as it came out.  A lot of us don't like to drop that kind of money on a game until we are SURE it is worth it.  Even great game ideas can be ruined by poor implementation. <cough> Star Wars Galaxies <cough>

    THIS IS EQ2!!!!  Do you relize how devote us SOE fans are?  We will buy this game, it will be awsome, nothing more needs to be said. image
