I was able to play a bit of the game in the late beta and with a trial, early release. I remember about a dozen quest being pretty easy and even soloable. Then after that, things got more difficult and full groups were the only real option. Well, that was kind of a turn off for me. I don't really have the patients to organize a group. And besides with the build in voice chat... some people can be really annoying or just so "different", I'd have to call them wierd.
So yeah... awhile back I read there were changes to the game to allow the solo or small group option to have some fun. I didn't really care then - having gone on to something else. But now a curiousity has come over myself and a budy. We wish to know how much of the game is now open for a duo? Have they toned down the difficulty on all the quest? Or did they just add a few simple quest here and there?

Really depends on your skill level and knowledge of the game, two experienced and skilled players can definitely hit level cap via duoing but I highly doubt you could do it as a beginner. The solo modes they implemented are crap it only applies to a few quests and they gives significantly less xp so that wont be the reason you enjoy this game. However the group heavy game that it is... imo, it is the best game on the market right now by a long shot and you will enjoy it immensely if you play it a little.
The voice chat is not a big deal. Its nice to talk about whats going on but I rarely ever find any wierd people and If if do, I /squelch them.
DDO is where its at.
The built-in voice chat is what helps make the game so friendly and fun. Yeah, you have to group with the oddball once in awhile, but you never have to group with them twice.
DDO is a group game, and in that area it excels. Really, if you and your friend can find two other people you like playing with, that's a solid size group right there.
