How does this play on older computers?

I have Directx 9 and under a gig of RAM. Graphics wise should I even bother?

I played with a nearly 6 year old P4 2.0 GhZ processor, 768 of pc-800 RDRaM, and an xfx geforce 6200 256 meg vid card hardly a top of the line pc and i was able to play on "high" graphics settings with very little trouble and virtually no lag inside an instance. The only place I had real trouble was in Giant Hold because it was very crowded. As I understand it though even folks with high end machines lagged there. At relese I had a Geforce2 MX400 64 meg vid card and could play on medium settings with nearly the same results. So I'd say yes DDO definately plays well on an older pc with less than a gig of ram.

Yes it's playable with your computer. It's a great engine actually.

Yeah, the recent engine upgrade with Mod 6 actually increased the quality and lowered the demand (for most people) and I think the only place you'd struggle is in crowded areas where there's a ton of drawing (like Gianthold).
