Ok, so this started out as a thread where I requested someone to make me a signature and/or avatar.  It's been a little hijacked (but that's ok) so now I'm turning inot the official signature request thread!  Need a signature or want a new one?  Make a request and I'm sure someone will get around to making you one...maybe...if you ask REAL nice

 

 

Ok, so I'm at work all day...literally, like 8am-7pm EST.  I'm bored with my avatar (I lub j00 Strongbad, but j00 r teh boring), and I need a sig!

Ok, so here's what's up:

Make it creative, but appropriate (aka no porn, no NSFW material, etc.).  I won't call this a contest, per se, because I don't know if it's allowed or not...if it is, there just might be a prize to go to the first place sig creator and first place avatar creator.  If it isn't allowed, I'll love you forever, or maybe worship you, or both, or neither...your preference.

Entries are limited to 2 per person per event (for a total of 4 images), but try to keep the files small, i.e. don't suck up the website's bandwidth.  Signing your artwork is fine.

I'd prefer an animated GIF for my avatar, but the sig is pretty much whatever.  The time for this is limited, so if you're interested, get to work!

So you know:

My comp specs are in my bio (user info) if you want them.

If someone wants to host these images, or has the ability to, send me a PM pretty please!  As mentioned before, I don't want this sucking up MMORPG.com's bandwidth.

    WTF is up with all the double posting?  Did someone turn on the "clone post" button or something?  every other post I see, just about anywhere on the site, is a double post...

    Naw, I'm not a security guard...that would be cooler than what I do.  I'm a gopher...I do all the menial labor in the work place so that my boss can function (aka take the day off whenever he feels like it, leave early everyday, etc.).

    Umm, Murt...Blue and Red...and...Anything of the fantasy genre floats my boat, as longt as it's not an old man or woman in a loincloth...or any male in a loincltoh, really...


    Edit: I have no idea why gopher is hyperlinked, ignore it...it won't go away

    Gopher is an Internet Protocol. It use to be a way of finding/retrieving files (I think). The system saw the word goher and hyperlinked it automatically.

    I don't think gopher is used anymore though, I may be mistaken.

    Hmm...Gundamit, do you think you could also try to alternate the lightning motif with flame and then again with stone as well?  Just want to compare the 3.  Other than that, it really looks badass!

    Well, that takes care of the sig.  Who thinks they can top that with an avatar image?

    I used photoshop and a random pic I find off the net. The backgrounds are kind of random I keep messing around till it comes out right. Sometimes I just use pictures.

    Far as finding the pics I just luck up allot and save whatever I see as nice. Then I zoom in and cut around it pixel by pixel. Then add effects to it till it fits the background.

    Look!  I made my own avatar at work because I was bored!  Who thinks they can do better?

    I tried to do a reverse scheme of a cropped version of the skeleton in my sig...but the file was too big.  Anyone know how to shrink file sizes like that?

    I'll host it myself as soon as I can...going away this weekend, but it should definitely be hosted somewhere else by monday :)

    Do I have your permission to keep all 3 for when I feel like a change?

    I'm also interested in how you guys post those signatures on the boards... I've tried HTML but I'm not 100% certain the board accepts it. Help an old, technologically challenged fella out huh?

    The board is based around BBML, slightly easier to use than HTML.  To get a list of BBML commands, just use a search engine.  There are quite a bit, and there are a few different systems (some having more commands than others), but the basics are universal.
