What I do not understand is why banned players and "pissed off" ex-players still want to sit in a room and slag off a game that they have either left or been forced to leave?

I have a very good (RL) friend Who I met in RV, his name is ExZ ingame, but I know him by his first name.
We're a tight knit community, even if we despise each other
We don't really slag off the game that much either, it seems to be the likes of KFR saying that we do triggering this reaction in people.
Yes the IRC #RomaVictor channel is now unoffical, it is no longer the offical IRC channel of the game.
Is there any real reason for this post?
Its unofficial for many reasons.
Cussing, lack of enforcing rules, and allowing banned players of RV to be there.
I think RB has every right to say its unofficial.
Im working on making a new channel/server later if RV ever starts to break 500 people playing.

Hopefully it will DDT as the escalation is live now, and we get all the board control functions rolling and new buildings in (which they plan to roll out this week ) balistics and eventually mounts will attract alot of people, and by then the major guilds of the game will have made some nice settlements
You believe really that all those board control functions will be rolling out this week like they said? Ya I guess all those other deadlines they said and missed shouldnt give you any reason to doubt them. I mean man they almost hit the mark on this last update, they said this month (with a week or so left) and it came out about 6 months later. Thats pretty close right?
Whatever they come out with will help the game Im sure, however, I dont expect it to be out as soon as you believe it will. They have a small team working and thats how its going to stay for a while. Until some major issues are solved with this game it will stay a few people playing it. (Yes under 300 people even remotely active, for an MMO is a few)
I really hope RV does well because I love the ideas behind it, I just feel they lack the money and with lack of money comes a lack of dev/coding team. More money they could hire on more people to fix the game. But its a loop they are in thats going to take a while. They cant get more money until the game gets better, the game cant get better until they get more coders. Over time the game gets better but thats what it will take is time.

The funny thing is I dont rember anyone claiming it to be the official IRC channel, so what if its a popular channel? there are plenty of banned people there that is true but I dont find the game itself being slagged off at all, the main source of hate seems to be focused on the developers not the game.
And of course convosation wonders from samuria to ww2 to women, you have to be 18 to play RV so its no suprise the channel would carry a more mature (while not always seeming like it ) debate.

see the channel is more of a unmoderated speak easy, there are rules excessive swearing isnt exactly looked kindly upon, Racism is not allowed will get you kicked, posting porn will get you a kick ban etc and I stand by its current moderated staff, one of which the creator of the channel doesnt play (think he killed his account status pissed with KFR).
KFR went on one hell of a power trip he banned cynewulf for calling someone carebear, the most popular player in the game.
I dont really support this thread, I try not to cause so much disturbance cause I know this game is going to flop now for sure so I just try to not give it any attention, although I wont hesitate to dispell the myths as they crop up of fully implemented features and guildhalls taking 6+ months (when they said it would be done in a week) so if a week=one month to make a few lousy buildings for them really what are they capable of ?.

I think you knew when you posted that reply, Kemarik, that it was a personal attack and it did seem directed at the post above you. That wouldn't work on the RV forums, so why are you surprised to be edited here? Just because many here don't toe RB's line about their game being fantastic, doesn't mean this place really is the uncontrolled cesspit that you have stated it to be. Some manners are still required.
Yes, many people here say the game sucks, and the game's score also reflects that, yet they are always happy to give very specific and very long reasons.

If I recall correctly, it was some new Roman guy who kept posting everytime someone stole something that he didn't set private. After he complained that he lost 25 flax after leaving them unattended for 3 days, I called him a carebear. Bam, banned. Farside had also remarked on his whining over stolen flax, and he went, too.

It amused me at the time that a developer who ostensibly will be adding full loot at some point feels the need to protect the feelings of someone suffering much less than the consequences of full loot.

I agree it was over the top, a perma ban from the forums.
Dont forget this had nothing to do with the game. It was a personal attack however, its not like others havnt made worse comments and are still posting never been banned not even temp banned or warned.
I still think its a personal attack and needs to be dealt with however, it was over the top IMO. There are others on the forums that need to be slapped much harder yet are not, and some are even rewarded.

No a large section does NOT go there. Only a small section does. I think you just think its a large because its people YOU talk to. Being that you are one of the banned players I can understand how you would try to speak out vs this action that KFR is doing. Its common practice though.

In a Game wich has Less than 200 players, and it's highly probable that it has less... 20 people who go to one IRC room to chat is 10% of the game population, If 10% of any other MMORPG went into one chatroom to chat, that would be considered large... I don't see why it shouldn't here, since we're talking about an MMORPG, A successful one if the fanbous are to be believed. mrDDT... the only reasons you're arguing with me about this is the fact that you're a beliggerent bastard, Don't like me and don't like the fact that banned players are allowed in there, yet you still go there. If you want to create your own, feel free to do so, I'm not stopping you, Just stop arguing for the sake of arguing.

First off 20 people are NOT there and havnt been there for a long time.

DDT, stfu. The amount of players using that exploit had to be over ten. I dont know anything about the other people's previous "misbehavior", but I know that I at that point did NOTHING in the way of exploiting, griefing, or breaking the rules in any way.
I had a harsh manner on the forums, and In-Character, but I didnt break any rules. KFR wanted to ban me to shut me up, and thats just the way it is. Sadly it hasnt worked, and I've been playing for a while now after the ban.
This game is going downhill, and even if KFR did the "right" thing every so often, he is screwing up what could have been (AND STILL COULD BE) the greatest MMO ever made in the eyes of PvPers, crafters, die-hard roleplayers, and fans of Roman themed media.
While I dont mind the ban too much, the fact that he is destroying MY game is too much to bear. It'll catch up to him eventually, and thats just the way it is. You can laugh it off, you can support the game, you can shoot down anyone who has been banned (which doesnt keep them from playing anyway), and its STILL the way it is.
I HAVE been gone for a few days of course, so the population might have gone down
