Hehe, I hereby dedicate this thread to games and systems from "back in the day".  Remember when NES first came out?  This is how most of us felt about it:

    man lol i loved my C64 lol i even had the crappy voice program for it.

    all those TSR games caused me to miss so many days of school.

    Yep, I had a C64 with a tape drive just like shown in that ad. The only game I can remember playing was Zaxon.

    But I bought my C64 primarily to use as a word processor, and I remember when trying to explain it to some old guy once being razzed about it. He basically called it a 'toy', and was bragging on his new $1,000 electric typewriter. He just couldn't conceptualize the potential of being able to view, edit and save a complete document electronically.

    I SPENT A LOT OF TIME AFTER SCHOOL PLAYING THE C 64.  LOVED THE DUNGEONS & DRAGONS GAMES THE MOST.  ALSO SPENT A LOT OF TIME PLAYING SUMMER AND WINTER GAMES.

    I loved my Commodore 64, it was the best thing since sliced bread growing up.  Then a couple years latter my best friend got a Commodore 128, wow it was so fast, but it sucked because there was no software out for it, so it could only play 64 games.  LOL.  Oh the good 'ole days...

    While I did not break that many...1 or 2 because of summer games mostly...stinking long jump made me work so hard.  My favorite will always be the original Might and Magic and Pool of Radiance games.

    Wow, never heard of Amstrad.  I had friends who had Tandy's or Apple IIe's though.  Learned Pascal on Apple IIe's.

    The Joystick breaker for me was Track and Field.  That game would give anyone a nervous disorder as well.

    My first console:

    This used to bring all the kids on the block to our house.  We were the first family with any kind of console.  (Thanks Dad!  )

    Just picked up an emulator for PC for Nintendo Entertainment System games.  No more blowing on cartridges or clicking off/on which moving up/down.  I've decided to start DragonWarrior from the beginning.  Sweeeeet.

    Almost NES, I played the SNES mostly. The game I played the was Zelda: A link to the past, that game was simply awesome. The best zelda game through all times.

    I started with the Atari 2600 but ultimately played the NES longer.  I miss Tecmo Bowl, the original Final Fantasy (I & 2),  AD&D (Dragonlance), Gauntlet, Mike Tyson Punch-Out, Karate Champ, Contra etc.

    Commador PET. Cassett loaded Space Invaders.

    Still remember waiting 45 min to play that game as it loaded.

    your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't

    I did, though didn't realize that's what it was at the time.  Lesson learned and don't have any regrets, I just wanted to play the games.  Just bought my copper sword and leather armor on DragonWarrior.  /flex

    Ye olde Gameboy...

    This little brick got me in lots of trouble in high school.  The screen comes in two colors: Pea Soup Green and Spinach.  Yum!
