WoW is still a wait, but I am here to tell about Synergy. We are a gaming community that plays many games. We are planning a guild in WoW when it goes retail. Here is some info that explains what we strive to be:
Name
Synergy: n. The interaction of two or more agents or forces so that their combined effect is greater than the sum of their individual effects.
Sanctum: n. 1. A sacred or holy place. 2. A private place where one is free from intrusion.
We believe that all names should have meaning, whether intrinsically or aesthetically. We prefer names that accurately portray the spirit of a character or group of people. The term synergy captures what we feel to be the nature of any group of people. If the sum of a group is not greater than its constituents, why form a group? Synergy is also a phonetically and aesthetically pleasing word. When we hear or think of the word synergy, there are lots of mental pictures of very creative things. So, the name, synergy, is both a functional description of what we are trying to be and an sonorous word choice for gaming community.
Sanctum describes what this website is striving to be. As a gaming community, we need some place that feels holy. That we can take ownership in and feel part of something greater. We want to be able to escape from the fiery darts hurled at us from competing groups and disgruntled players. A place where we can shape and evolve who we are and what we want to become; a place to grow. Simply, a place to call home.
Creed
We believe that a player community should mean something to each and every member. We believe that all members are important and bring skills and experiences that contribute to make Synergy a much better organization. We believe that the quality of a player is not measured in game depth or play experience, but in character and integrity. We believe that games are not defined by the levels gained or treasure gathered, but by the friends made along the way. Above all, we believe that games should be fun and enjoyment will be greatly magnified when shared with a group of friends.
Vision
Synergy will strive to set the standard for gaming communities by honest reconciliation and fair representation. We will strive to be an organization by the people, for the people. We will work together to maximize our potential through varied voluntary contribution. We will become synergetic.
Mission
To become the gaming community of choice for players serious about having fun. To provide players with a voice that will be heard and heeded. To provide an environment that fosters friendship and cooperation. To be synergetic.
