Yep, I rarely say "this game isn't for you"...but guess what.  Go back to Guild Wars.  The WoW comparisons are just ridiculous, if you want to play Guild Wars don't let any of us stop you...

I thought Guild wars did not have a monthly subscription. IS this true?

You dont have to pay extra for the expansion modules for DDO like you do most other games that are of the SAME AGE, game style (as in not an item mall or a game designed to be free).    Honestly DDO's not that bad for what it is...a Group Based Module game.  I do personally love Everquest 2 more than DDO of course since it has a vast amount of content and you can solo alot more.

14.95 is pretty much the normal monthly fee for IP liscenced 3D game that doesn't have a crappy tacked on item mall or built into your web browser.   Hell even Guild Wars learned its lesson its going to P2P for Guild Wars 2.

Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!

Got a link to back that up? Every statement I've read from the devs at ArenaNet say they're sticking with their original free model and will release expansions (not full campaigns) to pay for the game.

I just went in for fun to check my old EQ subscription (which was 14.99 plus VAT when I played back in 2004). Lo and behold it is still 14.99 plus VAT :)

I'm not sure where you get the 9.99 number from, but according to my own EQ account it is 14.99 *shrug*

Edit: I can see EQ is listed at 12.99 here on MMORPG. So it is definitely not 9.99, but I do wonder why my own account says 1 month subscription for 14.99 and this site says 12.99. Can anybody shed some light on that?

Oh give it up Scottish, the games at 14.95 represent 90% of the market, the games you named have seen better days and do not have the population they once had, hence the reduced pricing.

Throwing numbers around that everyone knows are wrong just gets you laughed at.
