Yah..its one of these...im interested in this game, need some opinions.

I've been so insanely bored lately and im cravin a new mmo to play. I just got done trying eq2, couldnt stand the community...tried granada espada beta and it made me kinda vomit a little (just something about not being able to change my god damn hair!! AAH! i wanted to shoot someone). I'm big on pvp, and from what i hear this game has a hardcore grind (which believe it or not actually makes me wish the game was a woman so i could seduce and make love to her).

I guess my main questions on this game aarrreeee.

Is the pvp pretty much the best thing since sliced pizza?

Hows the community? Do bombtastic people outweight the Dbags?

 

Also...any other opinions, like...I HEAR THERES FISHING! Is it awesome!? I fishing.

I think you just need to look at the main forums www.lineage2.com and perhaps even one of the larger unofficial forums www.l2guru.com in order to get a feeling for the community.

Warning, the L2guru site has inappropriate content for workplaces. Can't let you get into trouble now can we.

The pvp is good but you need to be playing a pvp appropriate character or don't mind playing a buffer or healer and getting targeted in the first 2 seconds.

It is an open pvp game.

You can change your hair but there are limited options. And you need to do it with potions which you purchase with something called ancient adena.  As a new player you won't have a lot of access to the amounts you need I think. Not that they are prohibitivly expensive but you can't just walk up to a store to get those potions. You have to have signed up with a priest of Dawn or Dusk, your side needs to win the competition and then you can purchase with ancient adena. (which you get by signing up with the appropriate side and entering special dungeons where the mobs drop it).

I hate fishing but it's ok I suppose. You can get materials for common crafting (only dwarves can craft but everyone can do common crafting. One thing you can make is "hair potions" but you need to get enough of the correct materials and that can be a pain.

This game is nothing like EQ2.

Might want to mention that potions dont give you access to new hair styles. You can only ever choose from the hair styles at character creation. Same goes for facelift and hair dye pots.

Also 7signs isn't a big deal, every server has a side that always wins (usually Dawn). And even if that wasn't the case, you could always sign up for one with your main and another with an alt.

Yeah, I just wanted to impress upon them that they couldn't just walk up to a priest and be able to buy a potion. There is more involved.

PvP is good. The sieges are the main attraction. As far as community ull find total extremes. Games where competition is so raw tend to bring the worst out in people. But since it is FFA you can always do something about it. Must be in a good clan if you wanna have fun though. Soloing is a drag. Btw ranged classes own pvp (mages/archers) some melee in higher lvs do great but if you want the easy way hit ranged classes.

Lineage 2 is a great game but NCSOFT is the worst game publisher I have ever come across with as a company.

You can spend *ALL* that legit time playing and then *POOF* one day you log in and find that you are banned.  Seems to happen often in Lineage 2.  Get used to losing all the precious time you spend in game building your avatar and then for no reason at all, NCSOFT will accuse you of "cheating/using 3rd party software/advertising 3rd party software" and BAM! your banned. 

They have no consideration whatsoever for legitimate players.  In fact I think they hate them.  You want to play a game where they push EBAY and ban LEGIT players?  This is the game for you.  Think of all those hours your gonna waste when one day you log in and get yourself screwed over by NCSOFT.
