Long ago before the enternet there was BBSs. They where bulletin boards set up by some one local and he would have a 2400 baud modem and one line coming into his or her house.
You could call and connect and download files .. leave mail for others and play simple games .
One of those games was called "Trade Wars" and it was so much fun. It was so very much like Eve.
does any one remember that game? I know its been quite a while.

Yes. I played it allot myself for a number of years.
Eve is in fact based on tradewars, the authors of EvE explain it in a interview, although I'm at loss finding it at the moment. I'll post it when I can come up with the link.
