Revelations 2, did any one else notice...

in EVE Online

Revelations 2, did any one else notice that, as the devs promiced, there are no more wrecks or loot in missions. Well that's not the part to notice, there are also no more wrecks or loot from any NPC be it belt rat, DS rat etc..   The only thing that drops a wreck/loot are player ships.  That is in empire at least.

 

The bounties on all NPCs is now doubled.

 

Faction items are offered as rewards for low sec missions.  So at least on the test server the only way to get salvage and loot much less faction items is from other players or low sec missions.

 

Oh, I did send in a bug report on belt and DS rats not dropping, the reply. Not a bug is working as intended.  Could this be the new "carrot" Oveur was talking about to pull players doown to low sec?

 edit:  OH the gate/keys are the exception, those have dropped in a can as it was pre Rev.

    Yea one of the changes they are making to reduce lag is to reduce the number of NPC's and make them ahrder and bigger.

    Todays patch brought back the wrecks and drops even on missions...

     

    And Thats why it's called the test server.

    You know it''s funny but I use the Xfire voice chat for WOW but most games I will turn off Xfire and use TS/Vent  so it actually gives a false reading. When I play EVE i turn off Xfire becuse it just adds to my lag even worse. Actually after my last attempt at a battle a few months ago (ok last year), I say attempt because I warped to POS battle and did  not finish lagging till my pod was at the gate some 15 min later but i digress.   So I never run Xfire while in EVE, thus it does not show my EVE playtime.

     

    That and Xfire tends to Crash whil playing multiplegames in Window mode as I do.

    Erm

    It's called TEST server for a reason :)  Wrecks were back on today :)

    Also:  I really don't recommend people to use XFire.... All you're doing is voluntarily allowing spyware (XFIRE tracks your gameplay AND your website useage) onto your system.  Cool Spyware... but spyware no matter how you slice it.

    Use TS or Vent.... it's better anyway.

    taram I have both and use TS/Vent based on the game  and what the team is using.  Yes it is cool spyware and I am willing to allow  them to track my gameplay because they offer one thing I have yet to find... err make that 2 things.  The ability to jump into a game and server that a friend/clan mate is in and Voice chat for people that don't have TS/Vent but do have Xfire.   I actually have not had any problems with any other game as I have a 6gib down 4gib up connect but if Im running Xfire an jump into a mis the NPCs have aggroed and im in my pod before the lag stops when Xfire is active. inactive and my ship is just on fire when the lag stops.

    Yeah i really dont think they will take out wrecks from npc's..
