tales of pirates has the potential to be a good game. However the live customer support is an utter joke and often takes many days of pestering before anything is ever truely done. The GM quests are also a nice idea however one monster for hundreds of people to slay makes that too a horrible joke. So to make this cut and dry its a nice looking game and fun to play. I do still play it however I'd say your money is better spent on a pay to play game because the people who pay for items from the item mall are at a great advantage. Again...nice game.....but not well run.
Oh by the way the world chat is extremely annoying and cursing, flaming and advertising happen regularly.

Sorry to dig up this old topic but you can turn off all the chat channels you like. I have the global,system and trade channels switched off so I don't see the spam.

Yea I've played it for quite awhile but you miss alot of opportunities by turning all the channels off. The price for blocking the spam is blocking the good stuff too. The language filter is a joke and its common for characters named "bitch" and "asspirate" to run around slaying monsters your trying to kill at the time.
