"have you ever read the reasons they attacked us? They attack us because we've been over there for years" That tells me that he believes that if we pull out of the middle east, that the attacks will stop. If he believes this, then he is an idiot.
I see you like to interpret stuff and put words into people's mouths.
What he said was true according to the Commission Report and Osama Bin Laden's own words and everything I said above in that post about Osama Bin Laden. Osama has said what Ron Paul said, of course he went into more detail and in many speeches and it was from Osama's perspective (not America's, obviously). Whether you trust Osama or not, he is basically the Jerry Falwell of the middle east...in other words VERY VERY influential, and so people believe him and of course we played right into it by invading Iraq.

I'm not going to read the rest of your post after reading that...you friggen hypocrite...where the hell do you get off saying something like that? You're like the king of baseless assumptions and rationalizations on these forums.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

So you think that the attacks will stop if we stay?

I don't think that the attacks are going to stop no matter what we do, so we might as well do the responsible thing and not just abandon the mess that we made of their country.
Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.
Guns don't kill people; crazy people kill people. Last week, in response to the Virginia Tech shootings, President Bush said, "When people see somebody who is exhibiting abnormal behavior, you do something about it." Thanks for the heads-up, McGruff.
But, if that's the case, then I want to warn the country about a man I saw last night on TV. He's six feet tall, Caucasian and he goes by the title "President of the United States."
I'm not kidding. George Bush is the crazy person we need to keep an eye on. He needs to stop taking money from the pharmaceutical lobby and start accepting samples. Only a delusional person could watch Alberto Gonzales before Congress last week do everything but say, "No hablo Ingles"- and rip up a picture of the Pope, and conclude that it "increased his confidence in the man." That's called disassociation from reality.
There's an old, frequently-used definition of insanity, which is "performing the same action over and over, expecting different results." And then it says, "See: 'The Surge.'" Now, I'm no doctor, but I am on TV. And in my professional opinion, George Bush is a paranoid schizophrenic.
He thinks the terrorists hate us for our freedom, and believes they're going to follow us home. That's why he keeps obsessively clearing brush, so Osama can't use it for cover.
Other symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia are: Do you see things that aren't there? Such as a link between 9/11 and Iraq? Do you - do you feel things that you shouldn't be feeling, like a sense of accomplishment? Do you have trouble organizing words into a coherent sentence? Do you hear voices that aren't really there? Like, oh, I don't know, your imaginary friend, Jesus? Telling you to start a war in the Middle East.
Well, guess what? There are a large number of people out there also suffering from the same delusions, because there are Republicans, there are conservatives, and then there are the Bushies. This is the 29 percent of Americans who still think he's doing "a heck of a job, Whitey." And I don't believe that it's coincidence that almost the same number of Americans - 25 percent - told a recent pollster that they believe that this year - this year, 2007 - would bring the Second Coming of Christ!
I have a hunch these are the same people. Because, if you think that you're going to meet Jesus before they cancel "Ugly Betty," then you're used to doing things by faith. And if you have so much blind faith that you think this war is winnable, you're nuts and you shouldn't be allowed near a voting booth.
There's only one job you can be trusted with, and that's picking out Phil Spector's next hairdo.

You actually did put words into his mouth by interpreting what he meant and then saying "if he believes this....". "if" is the key word to you actually admitting that you were putting words into his mouth, because "if" implies uncertainty. You were assuming what he meant. "That tells me..." again means a subjective stance, instead of taking what he said at face value.
Remember I put out a bunch of quotes from the Bible and interpreted them? Well at least I admitted I was interpreting them and you said I was interpreting out of context from the whole Bible. Well you are taking this quite forward quote from Ron and twisting it. He is saying "Have you ever read the reasons...", "read" is the keyword because he has read why they attacked us, he has read the Comission report and many other sources. He is the one Congressman who is well read and knows his history if you watched the debates. Ron Paul gives you his side of things and bases them off of tons of real situations, historically and present. I don't see the other candidates do that half as much, they just play off the emotions of the crowd.

By the by, I think leaving Iraq now would be selfish, I don't care how expensive your bills are, these are human lives we're dealing with. But we have to face the fact that Iraq will never fully recover, and it is completely our fault. I don't think anyone can see the light beyond the woods, we've run dry on solutions.

I don't need to qualify every opinion that I state with "imo" if something is an opinion, than a reasonable person will assume "okay, this is his opinion" whether I qualify it with something as obligitory as "imo" or not. Don't try to turn this around and make this seem like you've done us all a favor by always stating that your opinions are just your opinion, because we friggen know that already. As for this whole Ron Paul thing...ooh, generalization on your part? The other candidates just play off the emotions of the crowd? For someone who hates when people make generalizations about your candidate, you seem to do a lot of that yourself. Once again, you are a hypocrite. Secondly, You did absolutely nothing to prove to me that I'm wrong. Ron Paul stated that the reason we get attacked is because of our occupation and involvement with the rest of the world, period. That's exactly what he said, there is no way to interpret that but as what he said. I know that it hurts your feelings that saying that will probably get your candidate taken out of the race by most voters, but that's the way it is. I'm very sorry if my reasonable interpretation of what he actually said hurts your feelings...well okay, no I'm not.

Mitt Romney was asked what he dislikes most about America
Mitt Romney says: Gosh....I love America"...then goes on about the American people and rolling hills (literally). He never answered the question, he just went on and on about the heart of the American people and stuff like that.
Rudy Giuliani is a given. He attacked Ron Paul and pretended to be special because he lived in New York during 9/11. Somehow we are inferior or something. He is using his 9/11 credentials like a backstage pass or something. Didn't they tell the people in the second building to stay put because it was "secure"? Oh well.
McCain: On the subject of Osama Bin Laden. He's responsible for the thousands of deaths of Americans. He is now orchestrating other attacks on the United States of America. We will do whatever is necessary. We will track him down. We will capture. We will bring him to justice, and i'll follow him to THE GATES OF HELL! *grin*
All this with a stern look on his face and the wagging of his finger. He sounds like Bush when Bush talked about Osama...
As for the other guys, it doesn't really matter and I don't want to write it all out.
For someone who hates when people make generalizations about your candidate, you seem to do a lot of that yourself. Once again, you are a hypocrite.
