Unbelievable! When i played project entropia 2 years ago there were a lot of ppl playing. Port Atlantis was such a busy place and Camp Phoenix was crouded with sweating noobs. Today when i log in to take a peek the place seems abandoned! Only one simple soul in Camp Phoenix and Port Atlantis had just a few standing around the teleport.

What is happening?? Everybody quits? New players aren't attracted to the game anymore although it's 'free' to play??

Also, port atlantis looked way beter 2 years ago!

Dunno about PA but C.Phoenix was deserted after the turret was placed near TP. Go check Nea's Place in Amethera, sweaters are there now no matter how impropable it sounds! Or new outpost just north of PA, mass of 'em!

It's not "free to play". Or, almost. Depends how much and what you want to accomplish. I'm tired of this constant bashing of EU here on these forums. It's NOT the embodiment of evil, its a game goddammit.

I just spent couple months relaxed playing in WoW, maxed my character, all stuff blue or good green Outland stuff, maxed my two professions, now I should go do raiding and 70 lvl instances to get better gear. I'll do that when I bother. Then what is left? PVP only, there is no progression anymore, finished, done. And all that goes down the drain the day I don't want to pay for my account, then it's like it never existed. Now where is my brave ava now? Gone! No matter how fucking great epic gear I have that time, it has no 'locked account protection'.

While in WoW I have not been in EU almost at all. Except just yesterday. Guess what? My char and all the stuff is still there. I can pick up from where I ended when I last finished. Fool around if I don't have ingame money or money to deposit. Hunt as usual if I do. I can quit again and log in after 5 months, no requirements.

I think thats a lasting value. I can leave whole shit whenever I want, and I can get back in anywhere I am, just dloading the client, no questions asked. The character is on more solid basis than in all those pay-per-month games out there, I think.

I'm not a fanboy in sense that I voted like 10/10/10/10/10, I was honest, had and have to admit the flaws there are. But bloody hell if you guys don't get the idea of this universe.

You are partialy right. But it depends on your play style. I also play WoW, I have fe chars (none on 70 level). I plai it for fun and for story. And that's what's missing in EU. There is no story. There are no interesting quests. You can only run arround and gather sweat.

Wrong, there is a long term interesting story going on right now. Has been running for months.

    You seem to know.... nothing.
There are large amounts of participants using Entropia every day. The reason why certain towns seem quiet is because many of those who use to be OJ or Noobs are all pretty much now mid-level.
Port Atlantis is still the n00b mecca it always was, Twin Peaks is where most mid-level people hang out and trade.
Really, so many people went to the AlphaWorld Alpha release... oh wait, I can't register, the program is closed. Probably because the server is running on a 4mbps line I heard.
EU is plenty of fun, you just have no impetus to leverage it properly.

EU was plenty of fun, i still kinda like the game but im just starting to lose interest due to all new

MMOs that are being released ex WAR , AOC etc. EU is a cool game, best community i ever stumbled across,

and also quite calm, A bit too calm. other MMOs simply provides me with more action and excitement, and ofcourse

PVP which is one of my favourite features in MMOs, last time i pvp'd in EU you could barely hit your opponent due

to lag, dunno if they changed this yet? And there are only a few pvpers in EU due to the real cash economy.

It's still an awsome game with huge business opportunities which makes this game unique.

I'll probably keep on playing this game for many years to come on the side of other games

You do not have to deposit anything, it is free to download, free to join, and free to play. If you decide to deposit $100, that is your decision.

    Cheers

Um, not sure what you're talking about here; maybe I'm just misunderstanding? Your WoW toons last forever, even if your account lapses. Feel free to take a year off or whatever, they'll still be there when you get back.

Guess I wasn't clear (to myself either), but meaning something like:

I don't need to commit to any payment/depositing plan, ever, my char will still be available at all times. I never need to worry about game discs, registration keys, buying maybe extra content, I just download the client again where ever I settle down and off I go again. I can enter EU 24/7, have 3 months break , check auction for 15 min, week off, then 3-4 hours/day, whatever, I never need to wonder if I payed this months bills, or worry that I'm paying while not playing.

It being completely separate from my possible RL issues, it is very persistent.

If I decided to quit WoW for good, that's just it, all finished, all efforts I put to my char are gone like they never existed. Whereas if I plan to quit EU for good, I can extract my skills even (time put in acquiring them), sell them, sell my gear, and in fact really transfer those funds back to RL. And again, this is not dependent on how much I deposit/play/pay monthly. So the value of my possessions ingame is real value, not like in WoW where I think "Cool, I have now collected 2000g ...monopoly money "

I usually see between 200 and 800 people playing every day... But I am only on to really check my shop and update it every week...

Sick of playing Entropia Universe? Want to quit, but don't want your hard earned money to vanish? Give your items to ME :-)

  • TorschenTorschen Member Posts: 78

"..see 200 to 800 ppl" but there must be much more, for whenever (mainly about 4pm-4am) I wenture out to wilderness, from anywhere of the 50+ teleporters, sooner rather than later I see another player on my radar.  And the areas are god damn large.

Couple hundred near Atlantis, same maybe near Twin Peaks, tens in many major congregation points, tens in all the favourite hunting areas.

At one spot it doesn't look much but certainly there are thousands of players in peak hours.

I know there are far more people, But I'm talking concurrently...
