I am wondering why some games don't have official forums.
e.g.
Vanguard - Pre-release Forums, but no Official Forums after release.
WAR - No Official Forums?
(Just a couple of examples that spring to mind.)
If WAR had an official forum I might actually show a little more interest in it.
I like the AoC forums, devs comment there and there is always some kind of discussion going on - I feel like a part of the AoC community because of this.
There must be a reason for games such as Vanguard and WAR to push potential players to 'fansites', I just don't see the advantage.
If someone knows about these things I'd be very interested to learn.
Thanks!

That said, tis better to never have Forums then to have them then shut them down.

They can't afford a few mods etc?
When you release a shitty game, having players jump all over you on the official forums hurts subscriptions. Thats about it.
Your insight is outstanding. Have a lollipop.
I am trying to understand the reasons for some games to have / not have official forums. I find it hard to believe that it is purely a cost issue.
Specifically in the case of WAR.
What they are promising is a great game, why wouldn't they have forums?
Forums are retarded. Its nothing but idiot fanbois against the rest of humanity. It really hurts the development process, imo, because they listen to these moronic fanbois who claim the game is the greatest on earth when the game has the lowest sunscription rate since its release.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out that when sub. rates go down then the game is headed in the wrong direction.
I don't believe its a cost issue. Forums are pointless, and just lead to trolls/flames.
