Cookie Cutter issues

Most games out there are simple cookie cutters. Join this side or that, do missions for that side, or join the other side and do the same.

Most of the MMO's out there follow the fact you are part of side A or side B (Or sometimes Side C) but history tells us that even ones who are part of your side can be more on the other side. Spies and all that.

Star Wars Galaxies was the first to really give you a feel for living in a conflict. You could be Imperial, rebel or simply stay out of the fight and do what you want. A real RPG that way. You could have all three sides debate the choice they made.

But then we have games like WOW, where even though Night elves and Tauren are both Druids they can not converse to each other about the common ideal. I think it would have been nice if the game had not been so divided even a race or 2 that could have gone either way would have been very interesting.

Auto Assault ... Same thing ... pick a side and fight for that side.

What happened to the idea of determining your own fate and making your own  decisions.

If someone out there disagrees or agrees with the idea... lets hear it.

Simply put ... do you think players of an MMORPG should be forced to pick a side or should they be able to make their own choice in a game as to what side is right and wrong?

Rather a good idea. who's to say all _____ are bad or good.  let us decide by joining the side we would like.
