Releasing any information regarding your participation in Closed beta is a direct violation against the NDA.

However, it is a game that operates like a first person shooter in the sense that you join a match consisting of up to 16 players. So in that sense, no it is not a MMORPG and more of a online FPS with customization.

IT's a TPS not FPS. It's more of like a Zone of Enders / Armored Core style game. You can say it's Gunz, but with mechs. Also your not in violation of NDA, but you asked if someone was in CB so that would be called a violation if someone stood up and annouced they were in Closed Beta.

Unfortunately, a month ago closed beta.... closed. They have not announced when Open beta will begin. Sometime in the next month probably.

Think of Exteel as a 3rd person shooter where you can customise your robot. You buy different parts such as head, torso, arms, legs, booster pack, skills, weapons, and paint. You also can level up your proficiencies with differnt types of weapons, such as: the more you use rocket launchers the more bonuses you get while using rocket launchers.

The game is based on a soft target system. You have a target box instead of crosshairs. If something is inside the box you hit it. Different weapons have larger and smaller targeting boxes. Obviously the weapons that pack the biggest punch have the smallest target boxes. So, this game does favor good twitch players with fast connections and good computers (even though it seems like a computer built 5 years ago could run this game fine).

Think of Exteel as a Quake 3, UT2K, or Halflife quality shooter as far as the graphics and features are concerned. The maps feel about as big/small as those games. The gameplay may feel a bit sluggish to people used to modern day shooters. Even in the lightest and fastest parts, these mechs never truely feel fast. There were 16 player max limmits for games. Four game modes such as Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Teritory Controll (occupy the 5 bases and you win), and Last Stand (defend bases from NPCs). Basically there isnt anything new as far as graphics or gameplay is concerned other than the use of MMO type skills in a shooter.  Also like MMOs, you can customise your Mech for the fights and select from your available Mechs during the fight for different situations. If you are accustomed to the features of modern day shooters... this game might annoy you because it does not have very good team balance or votekick type features.

I will test it again when open beta hits.

It's kinda like War World crossed with Amour Core if I'm not mistaken.

WELLLL MMO is actually any game that has like hundreds of thousands or more people playing the game online. So reall a MMO is any online game that people play. The only part that would be not considered is the RPG part
