I have been having some problems.
Whenever i play Everquest, the music and sound sounds like its popping every few seconds and this happens with every sound and the music also.
I am also having a small problem in WoW with some sounds playing quieter than others (for example I'll hit someone once, then again and the sound will play much quieter). I don't know if they're related or not.
I am also experiencing a very small amount of popping in Planetside but i may just be paranoid at this point.
I just updated the drivers on the sound card and it still did not help the problem.
I tried the hardware acceleration slider at every setting and it didnt help either.
Is this most likely my sound card? Do you think getting a new sound card will fix it? Please help me problem solve! i have had no luck on google.
Sound card is RealTek AC97 (onboard).

If you are kicking any wires (especially ones connected to a subwoofer) you'll get alot of popping noises because the connection is being moved. The Realtek AC97 Drivers/Soundcard should be fine, however they have boatloads of problems - I'd recommend googling for help first before you change your soundcard. Good luck.
Since the problem happens with my speakers AND my headphones i think it can't be the speakers.
Also the crackling and popping only happens in EQ2.
